    Chris' 1/144 Trumpeter Chengdupalooza WIP

The first one is a little unfortunate, but as you said, a bit of touch-up and luckily, 1/144 - it's not going to be too much. The Iraqi/Iranian pair are looking good

    Latest Acquisitions (2026)

It's my 60th in a few months. My wife says I deserve something special, and I'm pretty sure something fab in 1/24 scale fits that brief for me - but I'm pretty sure that is not what she had in mind. Apparently I'm terrible to buy for, and I have a feeling many of you are kindred spirits, because...

Joe's 1/72 Trumpeter MiG-29 Fulcrum (Neil's Blooming MiGs Everywhere GB)

Excellent work, Joe. The first pic looks like it is just getting ready to start it's take off run, and the base with the tow bar are very effective. 10/10 on this one.

    Pete's Vulcan

I reckon I must have seen one as a lad growing up on RAF bases, but we didn't have them in Germany or Singapore; they must have flown over when we were in Lincolnshire. I would love to see one now. I did see the Victor when it was being renovated at Duxford, and that was big enough. This is...

    GB idea

Like the old joke about elephants, paint its toenails red and hide it in a cherry tree. (Because nobody has ever seen an elephant in a cherry tree, proving the camouflage works. I didn't say it was a funny joke.

You are inspirational; what can I say

Considering this as my first aircraft build

Well if you are going to start with aircraft, might as well go big - and this definitely will be big. Good luck and welcome to the fabulous flying circus!

    Papa695s Zvezda 1/48 SU-25 Frogfoot

That's really coming along nicely, and that yellow really is nauseating! Is it a tail-sitter? Looks like it has plenty of weight up front?

    Forgotten Fergie completed pics

Those moonlit pics are great! The whole build is fabulous. And surely the nest was built by a barn owl?

That's what I should have called the GB! Migapalooza! Soon, you'll be making these from muscle memory; no need to read the instructions.

    Joe's Trumpeter 1/72 Mig-29C Fulcrum

Excellent! That is looking good Joe - I do the same with stencils, if I can barely see it, forget about it!

    Smallest amount to airbrush

In truth, that's what puts me off - cleaning for a tiny amount of paint!

    Neil's Eduard 1/48 Mig-21 PF

And the pilot is in his seat now, but it is still not detached or tried in the cockpit yet.

    Neil's Eduard 1/48 Mig-21 PF

The front wheel flaps are not a good fit; I'll need more putty, and on the rear ones too.

    Neil's Eduard 1/48 Mig-21 PF

Some more progress - I've been busy trying to change job recently, so a little distracted. I've sorted out the in-flight part

    Smallest amount to airbrush

I am just curious, what is the smallest amount people use when airbrushing? In particular I am thinking when you want to paint something small that needs a different primer or colour? Normally, i just go to brush, but my current build will need two missiles in white primer and the rest in grey...

    Newbie

Welcome to the forum. You'll probably find you have a few different colour schemes, which would account for all the paints, although with 1/32 there are probably lots of little parts that are just a dab of paint here and there. Whether you really need all 36 of them for this model is doubtful...

    Airfix 1/72 Hawker Hurricane Mk.1

Oh I remember this. It was definitely a start back to the modelling, so I'm looking forward to seeing it finished properly.

I usually just manually shake and stir, but maybe it's time to shake things up (pun intended!). However, how much paint do you think you have saved from drying out and not being usable? I know I end up throwing a few out because they dried out, does this help prevent that?

    Joe's Trumpeter 1/72 Mig-29C Fulcrum

Good work, Joe. You are definitely in the home stretch with this one. Looking forward to the decals.
