Hmm, worst purchase? I bought a roll of very thin, veneer type material, which I thought would be great at edging diorama boards, (I usually use balsa strips), buts its so thin and fragile that it is almost impossible to use! it just cracks and crumbles as soon as you touch it, I think its just... -

Smart phone cameras are ok, ish, but for more detailed, better quality pics, you can't beat a decent "proper" camera IMHO. With the smart phone ones, the colours generally are pretty washed out, you can't see all the different colours in the pea pattern camo, the brown leather straps on the...- pjgtech

Decided to take some better quality pics. The initial final pics (above) were taken with my bog standard (Motorola) smart phone, which although the photos are ok, they do not really show up the little fine details and always seem a bit washed out, and loses some of the colour, etc, IYSWIM. Diorama model of a model shop
Lol, fantastic, I have a model shop near me which has a huge model of Concorde above the shop front, looks great. There also used to be a shop, near Catford (Lewisham) I think that used to have a massive Cat above the shop front! Watching along.... (y);)- pjgtech

Cool, as above, I love the driver's posture, head in hands, etc, classic case of one picture painting a 1000 words. Little bit of extra info on how you made the dio would be really good, eg: materials used, scale for the truck, what models were used, etc? Cheers- pjgtech

Yep, thats cos I did the eyes with the head off, then obvs when I put the head on, the eyes did not line up with the gun barrel, Doh! Silly schoolboy error, (another one) but every days a schoolday, etc. My excuse could be that he's keeping an eye out, sideways, for Johnny English coming up on...- pjgtech

Cheers, you know I don't hang about, Lol! I'm already scouting the stash to see if I can squeeze another one in before the Tamiya GB starts.... :) The camo was a bit bright to start off with, but I toned it down a bit with some shading, weathering and then the final matt coat also toned it down...- pjgtech

Best material for MP40 leather rifle strap at 1:16 scale?
Ended up just using some thin Tamiya masking tape, painted up red leather brown, CA'd into place, gave it a little twist to sort of show it drooping, not perfect by any means, but it adds that little bit of extra realism to the figure. Thanx for the suggestions folks....- pjgtech

How do we manage to lose large parts ?
I tend to find that I lose far fewer things when my wife is not allowed into, or encouraged to stay away from, said area, eg, garage, garden shed, cabin, study, or whatever other mancave sanctuary you happen to have available.... etc. ;) (y) -
