    1/72 Macross YF-19 Demonstrator

Who, as I recall, only just fitted in the cockpit! Well, the action figure only just fit in the toy one!

    Geoffs Trumpeter 1/48 MiG-3

Yes, but to misquote Douglas Adams, 'What colour should it be?' (always wanted to do a ww2 soviet 'plane in badly applied white wash...)

    Geoffs Trumpeter 1/48 MiG-3

Yep. Really quite pretty! (must finish mine!)

    21st century toys Macchi mc205 Veltro 1/32

Which still begs the question, why did the Italians have a chain in the harness? Answers in one of my many RA aircraft books? Sadly not that I can find

    Chris' 1/144 Ye-50 'Not another -21 prototype!)

Paint. Tamiya Bare Metal Silver rattle can Not too much clean-up needed, and the tail moulding looks okay from this angle But straight on, maybe not so much But I can live with that. And the photo also shows a gap in the starboard strake to fill I'm having to through all my tiny Sovs to...

    1/72 Macross YF-19 Demonstrator

Blimey, I built the Glaug forty years ago, and even in 1/72 it was huge And yeah, very Berkut-alike in black. Anime and game devs love FSW 'planes!

    Chris' 1/144 Ye-50 'Not another -21 prototype!)

And as a last note, a quick comparison piece From the left, the Ye-2 redux, the Yer-2A, and the Ye-50. Made an interesting minor cock-up with the Ye-2A wings, forgetting the middle 20 thou piece of thr sandwich which goes to make the upper surface curve more pronounced. Buuut, the did turn out...

    Chris' 1/144 Ye-50 'Not another -21 prototype!)

And on with the tailplanes and wings! Still needs a little work with filling and sanding. And getting rid of the end of the brass rod that pins them on! The tail-plane mounts look different in every photo of every sub-variant, even ones that were converted to another, like the Ye-2A and Ye-50...

    Chris' 1/144 Ye-50 'Not another -21 prototype!)

Progress Added the two fuel dump pipes out of rod. Easiest bit so far And the two small strakes, which, in the photos, appear to be smaller than the standard ones fitted to the prototypes I was in two minds about the reshaping of the fin base: whether to build it from sheet plasticard, or...

    Papa695s 1/600 HMS Ark Royal

This just shows that, with a bit (or a lot) of work, even an ancient kit can turn out pretty good Only two barrels broke? I'd call that a lucky, 'ahem' break (see what I did there)

So, why leave the tyres out of the box if you're going to sell the kit? Unless he's got a weird pseudo-ubber fetish

    Airfix 1/72 Hawker Hurricane Mk.1

Like many have said, one of new Airfix's best little kits, and a very nice turnout indeed If they do do a metal wing Mk I, I'll probably get one!

    But a lot less gluing?

Wait. Is that 1-to-1 scale modelling?

    Airfix 1/72 Hawker Hurricane Mk.1

And that's the picture Airfix based this kit version on, I see. Nice to see some proper research being done On the photo, does it say where it was taken? That's a lot of very flat open space there!

    Latest Acquisitions (2026)

Just as I switched fully out of 1/35 to expanding 28mm, this appeared. Followed by loads more British softskins. Going to watch out for a build on this one Oh, that's quite pretty. In a retro slab stylee
