Excellent work Tony. Great subject as well. The exploits of these woman should be better known by all.

    HST paint job

Looking good. Your usual spraying excellence on display. I travelled on those occasionally from Westbury to Paddington when visiting the daughter, and I’d say the spoon is by far the most accurate colour. The other model you are matching is definitely on the blue side.

    You can't park there mate!

Only way I’d work with those figures is a very sharp scalpel and absolutely no scraping Andy. It will be like trying to remove mould lines from kit rubber tyres. Soft plastic or rubber is horrible to work with…any inadvertent scraping will just create fuzz on the surface. The poses look OK...

How long to make a standard model??

Im pretty experienced in building these days, having tried most genres over the last forty years. A half decent small scale figure takes me about two hours, depending on complexity. A large scale bust can take around twenty hours. A 1/35 tank takes me around thirty to forty hours (trucks and...

    Shwmae from Cymru

Hi Marnei. Yep, loads changed around twenty years or so ago with the emergence of hobby acrylic paint and new kit manufacturers pushing quality forward. I think we are going through a similar upheaval now with the adoption of 3D printing. It is quickly replacing the traditional small cottage...

    Brian's Caldercraft 1/72 HMS Victory

I’m more of a Kraken man myself, but Pussers seems to be more in keeping with the subject…..

    Tickling my class 37 obsession

Like 37s. Prefer them in rail blue with yellow ends though, probably because I’m an old git and it reminds me of my spotting days……used to be a triple headed one run through Cardiff on MGR hoppers….

    You can't park there mate!

Hi Andy. If you want to see better pictures of the AB figures go to their home website at abfigures.com. They have better pictures. AB figures are an Australian company (Anthony Barton is the sculptor), and Eureka are the UK distributor and cast them in the uk under license. You are far...

    You can't park there mate!

For figures try Eureka miniatures 20mm. Look at the AB (Anthony Barton) range. They do some DAK infantry in relaxed poses, see ABING-76 and ABING-77. Might fit the bill. They are regarded as the best out there in this scale. Millicast 1/76 might do something useful as well, but I’ve not...

    I cant paint very good

I’ve posted a couple of figures painting SBSs on here in the past based around 1/56 (28mm) and 1/76 (20mm) scale figures. Probably still worth a look if you can cope with the small pictures resulting from the recent software changes.

    Brian's Caldercraft 1/72 HMS Victory

This is just like watching a shipyard build a real one Brian. Totally absorbing as well.

    The things you see 🧐

Chicken gravy granules (and beef I think) contain no meat whatever, so are suitable for vegetarians Jim. I think beef flavour crisps are as well, but don’t take my word for it…..

    Papa695s Airfix Bullfinches

Very very nice. Observation and execution is superb, especially on the plant.

Tirpitz with this and that, slow return for me

Good luck with the liquid pigment. I have an aircraft set that I simply didn’t get on with Bob. I found the remover stripped the underlying paint. Probably just me though. Looking very good otherwise though.

    Bird Watching a Relaxing Hobby

I’m amazed you get them in your garden Nick. Nearest we get to that is the occasional wren. We do get interesting stuff though. Last week there was a Stork strutting around the field behind us for about an hour. Not something I thought I’d ever see from my bedroom window…..

    Bird Watching a Relaxing Hobby

Fabulous shots of the female goldcrest Nick. Quite shy, and is apparently the UKs smallest bird. Males have an orange stripe, by the way….
