Scale Model Shop

You can't park there mate!

I've now added the stowage & decals so this is ready for weathering now, which I'll do later to fit it's surroundings.

What I'm really struggling with is finding suitable figures. I never imagined it would be so hard to find German soldiers that weren't in "action" poses, with weapons. It's no exaggeration to say I've spent more time trawling the Internet for figures than I have working on the model itself.

Hopefully something will come up, but if anyone has any suggestions, either in 1/72 or a reasonably priced file I could scale and print myself, it would be much appreciated.

This is my best option so far, as it's the nearest thing I can find to ww2 German soldiers just standing / sitting / loitering around

Thats the seller I was going to suggest andy , I know from experience his figures are fantastic ( I had the RAF pilots at rest set ) maybe a message to him to ask if he has any suitable figures on file to buy

I've seen him mentioned around these parts before but that's a good shout to drop him a message, cheers.

Cracking work Andy, another beauty in the making.
Thanks mate, much appreciated.

72nd? This is 72nd!?
Good grief

I'm afraid so 😂

I've made a start on the base. In the spirit of things I found some old polystyrene insulation in the shed. It's really messy to work with, but it'll do

After a bit of chopping and hot glue it started to take shape but my room is now filled with hundreds of little balls that have stuck to everything in sight 😂

A healthy dollop of PVA was used to seal it all in and it had a sprinkle of sand (left over from levelling my lawn) to start adding texture

That is coming along really well. Ron would certainly give that paint job a thumbs up. Glad the printer experience is good.
Thanks Jim. Sorry, I missed your reply at first as it was on the previous page.

For figures try Eureka miniatures 20mm. Look at the AB (Anthony Barton) range. They do some DAK infantry in relaxed poses, see ABING-76 and ABING-77. Might fit the bill. They are regarded as the best out there in this scale. Millicast 1/76 might do something useful as well, but I’ve not used those so can’t comment on their quality.

Brilliant Tim, just what I'm after I think. I'll have a better look later on a larger screen but they might be just the ticket, thanks.

Preiser used to do some in 1/72. Very well detailed and some pose-able.

Hi Andy. If you want to see better pictures of the AB figures go to their home website at abfigures.com. They have better pictures. AB figures are an Australian company (Anthony Barton is the sculptor), and Eureka are the UK distributor and cast them in the uk under license. You are far better ordering from Eureka for postal costs…..
