Got home from work on Friday to find my wife talking to this little fella who appeared to be quite happily having a little rest on the edge of our patio steps. I believe its a Goldcrest - tiny little thing.

Fabulous shots of the female goldcrest Nick. Quite shy, and is apparently the UKs smallest bird. Males have an orange stripe, by the way….

Thanks for that response Tim. I had no idea on the difference between the male and female. Last time I saw one of these the cat had got it. Now we are sans cat so I guess it's a bit safer.

I’m amazed you get them in your garden Nick. Nearest we get to that is the occasional wren. We do get interesting stuff though. Last week there was a Stork strutting around the field behind us for about an hour. Not something I thought I’d ever see from my bedroom window…..
