Tirpitz with this and that, slow return for me

Right tad more progress, added some random stained planks. Hopefully you can see them? Biggest problem is getting the drying time right, not enough time and you take it all off or too long and it stays there! Some of the deck has slightly lifted, so with the last wood deck to go on the...

Tirpitz with this and that, slow return for me

The satin varnish seems to have done a good job of bringing out various shades of brown planks Did make a start at the stern but overdid the bluey shadow. Must have left it dry too long so the remover didn't remove much. One to watch out for. However the instructions, bugger all.

Pesky dust and blowing it away

True, but getting a large enough one to cover a 1 350 hull or worse a 1 200 hull is a problem

Pesky dust and blowing it away

Think I might know where the problems lie? The stuff doesn't look like dust or hairs but look like tiny straight lengths of possibly fibres? I use the green paper sheets you some times get in paper towel dispensers. Or general serviettes to wipe brushes in. What is best to use??

Me too lol! Just put a spare bit of wood deck on plastic card. Instructions say to varnish first.

Tirpitz with this and that, slow return for me

Not painted yet but fitted Given up trying to cover the marks ( self inflicted ) on the pe decks but the centre section represents metal deck on the ship and has brush painted ok. So used Tamiya varnish on the plastic deck then fitted the wood deck. Not the best quality. But more practice. So...

    Sprue goo?

Didn't mention what filler i use at the moment. Creative materials, like the way it can be removed with a damp cotton bud. But always interested in different methods / ideas. Biggest area i use it for is around the prop shafts etc
