Filling gaps on 3D printed models

I forgot to ask earlier (b****y typical!). I have Vallejo Plastic Putty, Tamiya White and Grey putties, Squadron Green and Milliput. Which one of these would be easiest to use to fill tiny gaps on a 3D printed kit?

    Latest Acquisitions (2023)

Does anyone remember these (posted by Gary MacKenzie): I asked back then if anyone on the forum could print these if I bought the STL files. My luck was in as Neil Merryweather stepped up to the plate and offered to help. After much correspondence from me asking daft questions, Neil finally...

    H&S Ultra problem

I sed my H&S Ultra A/B yesterday with no problems. I broke it down and put it my ultrasonic cleaner (water plus a couple of squirts of hand soap) and ran it through a couple of 3 minute cycles - then promptly forgot about it so it's been sitting in there all night. Just reassembled it and it...

    Outlook my b*m!

Recently swapped to Outlook in Windows 11 'cos I wasn't receiving any emails at all. Now getting emails from everyone except our John at the shop. Every mail he sends me goes straight into the junk folder. I've selected the option which says 'never send this contact to the junk folder' but...

    All shook up......

I bought a Jintai R&D shaker some years ago which I've used regularly with no problems. These are advertised for use in laboratories and dental practices so they're good quality. I had a very quick look on t' net but couldn't find one in the UK. Maybe you would have better luck?

    Snow patrol (Not the band!)

I thought it would be nice to add a picture from above. Forgot to say the base is 300mm x 300mm (12" x 12" in old money).

    Snow patrol (Not the band!)

Here's the base for a quick dio. I'll be adding figures shortly, but the build goes: 6mm MDF base 20mm extruded polystyrene insulation Coat of domestic emulsion paint Rocks cast from moulds with plaster of Paris and painted with random splashes of dark brown, buff and black washes Ground cover...

    Thinning AK 3rd Gen paint.

Having heard nice things about these paints, I ordered a couple from John last week. Typical numpty eejit, I forgot to look for thinners. I've got Ultimate and Vallejo thinners, Tamiya X-20A, 99.9% IPA and good old council pop - aka tap water. What's my best option?

    WWII German winter uniform

Here you go Jim: This is the only picture I found so the evidence is extremely thin. I did see a brief reference to reversible uniforms which were grey one side and white the other but that only referred to Parka type coats. I also saw a reference to the Heer not ordering winter uniforms in...

    WWII German winter uniform

Hi guys. Can anyone tell me if any WWII German soldiers wore white greatcoats in the winter. I've found just one picture showing this but the site has closed so I can't find any more information.

    MRP lacquer paints

Had some problems - again- with my Vallejo paints. I've heard good things about MRP lacquer paints, so: Any issues with A/B painting such as pressure, thinning (if they need it, what with?), tip dry? What about painting with hairy sticks? What to use to clean A/Bs and hairy sticks? Where to...

It was just a matter of time until ...

Have you found over the last few years that young folk are really struggling with day-to-day tasks because they're trying to do them one-handed? That's because they are physically incapable of putting down their mobile phones. I saw the most ridiculous cure for that affliction earlier today. It...

    Customer service my a**e!

Some of you may remember the problems I had with Virgin some time ago. They increased the price of my services from £50 to almost £80. Not happy with that I spent three days trying to contact them with no success. I finally got fed up and changed to Sky. I did manage to get hold of Virgin on...

Operation M. The Great Work Has Begun!

For those not 'in the know' as they say, I had a plan to rid the world of the scourge of Marmite. I realised my original plan to send stocks of M into space via rocket would not work and I outlined my revised plan briefly here a couple of weeks ago...

    A question of scale.

I've been looking into some small scale stuff and have an issue with the quoted scales. I know HO scale is 1/87 and OO scale is 1/76 and most railway stuff is a combination of the two - I believe trains and rolling stock are 1/87 but the track width is actually 1/76. Am I right in that? My...
