AK Real colors. Same paint different bottle (worse in this case).

Missus Miko has that effect on me, I just have a naturally guilty expression!? I need to experiment more with other than my usual Tamiya and Mr Color paints, I suppose these aren't the way to go? Miko (presently perpendicular)

Selling my odds and ends. Facebook marketplace or eBay?

three Austin seven cars? wow! eBay has better back up if things go wrong but Facebook is more personal Miko (haven't sold stuff on either)

That's a fine modelling space, hopefully your new space will be as useful Good to see lots of drawers, modeller need lots of drawers, where we keep our best kept secrets! Maybe your next build thread could be a 1/1 scale modelling room, involving some assembly gap filling sanding and painting...

    Cleaning the stash... Sort of

Certainly, you've reduced your stash by one. . . . after adding one! So, depending on your time reference, you could logically assert your last action was a stash clearance! Miko (thinking like a lawyer!)

In this regard scalemates is your friend giving you the heritage of the kit, Tamiya rebox quite a few other kit brands, just like most of all the other kit giants Miko (Hasegawa/Frog Lightning F6 was my first experience of a reboxing)

    SHARP.

I remember in junior school our teacher had us experiment with cardboard pyramids! No, they didn't work, obviously! Miko (sceptic)

    SHARP.

New blades aren't too expensive, especially if you buy lots in one go, also, buy the least expensive, they lose their edge just the same as the more premium ones. Miko (once tried to sharpen an xacto blade with a razor strop, didn't work!)

    Amazing Amazon

We can all criticise Amazon for many things such as the death of the High Street and small businesses but, their delivery service is remarkable! With a 'Prime' account P+P is mostly no longer a worry. Today for example I made an order for paper coffee filters (I do enjoy 'proper' coffee) at...

    Poly caps

Yep, gluing poly caps doesn't end well, I expect most of us has done it at some point? Miko (leaving out poly caps can be equally frustrating!)

I tried that one on missus Miko, she called an exorcist!! I could do with a Gazelle for my 'raspberry ripple' stash Miko (thinking about it, I might have one? Need to do a stash stocktake!)

Me too! although my choices were out of nostalgia, I'm quite new to airbrushing after decades of Humbrol enamels, they used to be good thirty years ago, but now, my Chinese Iwata knock off along with Tamiya and MrColor paint has improved my modelling enormously!

I'm pretty sure all Matchbox kits were molded in two or three colours depending on size and complexity, it was a gimmick that kind of worked. It was only when Revell repopped them that they were single colour kits Miko (fave Matchbox kit, probably Fairey Swordfish, most built, Lightning F2a/F6...

    Aircraft Carrier Deck Markings

Find a high definition photo taken vertically downwards, cut and crop to the section you need and print out on photo paper, this will make a good starting point on which to display your builds Miko (photo opportunist)

Interesting, a four door Micra but two door on the box art? Miko (drawn into impulse purchases by sexy box art)

    Brands

Yep, been there done that, Matchbox were good for rare 'only game in town' kits, lots of inter war biplanes and two seat Lightnings for example, but only came in the export T55 version so needed and Airfix F1a/F3 ventral tank to represent an RAF version, Matchbox kits were usually good but often...

    Latest Acquisitions (2026)

The Revell Tornado GR1 is a fine kit, arguably the best in 1/72, nice fit good detail, not sure about Eduard stuff although it has a great reputation! Although the box art isn't the best! I looks kind of stretched out! But the nice lady looks to be well within acceptable aesthetic...
