Tamiya Simca 5 Staff Car
I know the above looks a bit rough but once the hole is formed etc, hopefully, the car will be sitting in more of a natural position. Thats what i meant about bringing the explosion zone, the Simca and the surrounding area all together rather than building each element individually ..... hope...- toto

Ok ..... back on the Simca 5 build for half an hour or so ....... The next steps 4 and 5 show installing the seats, handbrake, gear stick, steering column and driver. but I'm not having any of that as I want to prime and paint the inside and do the smaller parts including the seats a little...- toto

I have some business paperwork to take care of before haeding back up to Dounreay on Monday morning ...... holiday over for now. Thinking ahead to the crator ...... I was thinking of using DAS air drying clay to for the crator but now leaning towards Modroc bandage plaster instead. The Das could still be used to supplement the build once the crator shape has been created. The jury is still out on that one yet but I will...- toto

I'm thinking about making two orthree " test boards " to try some different grouting and weathering techniques on some cobbles before commiting on the main diorama itself. Say a three inch by three inch square pad demo board. I wont waste time with it right now until I've completed the diorama...- toto

I have the storm sewer grates ordered from Diorama Debri and need to do another attempt at the manhole frames and covers. I proceeded with the cobbles and didn't make any allowance to go back to install these items but they can easily be cut in retrospecively. I'll post up with the moulds when...- toto

Absolutely ..... loads of scatter materials. I'll look at that once certain elements are nearer completion. Same with one of the other big exercises that I will have with balsa wood ..... broken roof members, floor boards, windows ..... it goes on and on. I won't be finished this anytime soon...- toto
