    Bf 109 G-2 (Trumpeter 1/24)

Thanks guys! Last time I screwed up the upper-wing mask, so I reprinted the cross on paper and placed transparent adhesive tape on top. Then I've cut it with a knife, also added 5 more holes - these are covered with Tamiya tape... Next the mask was put in place and hold down with the Tamiya...

    Bf 109 G-2 (Trumpeter 1/24)

Thanks guys, Got a few hours yesterday so tried to make a masking set with the AK (A4) adhesive... The decals from the kit are nice, but at this scale I prefer to airbrush to avoid silvering issues. Also the fuselage crosses seem to be like 2mm too wide. I first drew out the crosses in...

What to use to hold small parts? eg: clamps, vice, Blu-tack, pegs, etc....

Nice tutorial Peter, well done. 👍 It's a bit old fashion but I'm still using drops of hotglue (heated gun) on the ends of wooden sticks. Very sturdy yet easy to remove afterwards. I also reuse the sticks. Cheers

    Bf 109 G-2 (Trumpeter 1/24)

Thanks Joe 🙏 This evening I did some work on the spiral spinner - I found some spiral mask shapes on Google images and printed them in a few different sizes. Then I traced the drawing with a pencil onto a sheet of 'AK Masking Tape A4' (AK8211). Next I've carefully cut the spiral with a small...

    Bf 109 G-2 (Trumpeter 1/24)

Thanks for the comments guys 👍 Was able to get some more bench-time this evening, I masked out the yellow panels with Tamiya tape and plastic foil - always a joy... Next I added white primer (Vallejo) as a base coat for the yellow, After that I sprayed a light orange color (6 drops yellow...

    Bf 109 G-2 (Trumpeter 1/24)

Thanks Joe, got an update, So the kit comes with 2 very similar color-schemes, both in Russia that didn't really spoke to me. As I love spiral spinners I went through my book collection and eventually found a 109G-2 with a spiral spinner, which is not that common as the spirals were a late war...

    Bf 109 G-2 (Trumpeter 1/24)

I sprayed a dark grey for the inside of the cockpit (mix black/white Vallejo primer), Then I tried to cover all the cavities with black Vallejo primer, Then I covered the rest of the model with a light mist (still black Vallejo primer), first time I'm not going full black on the primer coat...

    Bf 109 G-2 (Trumpeter 1/24)

... 5 years later ... Well, I was looking forward so much to the new '1/24 Airfix bf109G-6' tool and really want to get my hands on that one day, but then a feeling of shame came over... I still have a G-2 shelf-queen in the closet! So I decided to get this G-2 finished first before buying...

    Focke-Wulf Ta 183 'Huckebein' - 1/17

Well, I printed a 2nd mold and tried to use less heat but it still started to deform the mold. Frustrated by a lack of spare time I decided to use the 2nd canopy never the less, it's going to hang somewhere in a room so probably not worth the effort making another one. Gluing the thing was sort...

    Focke-Wulf Ta 183 'Huckebein' - 1/17

Thanks for the comments guys, Well I finally got a few hours at the bench, so I tried to make a canopy by shrinking a PET-bottle around a mold with a heat-gun. The mold is also 3d printed from 'PetG-CF', which is a little bit more temp-resistant than 'PLA'. I first tried a small bottle (50cl...

    B25D Mitchell (1/48 from revell)

Very weird indeed, all images I could find show a flat panel above the bomb-load. For those who like to think along, below you can see the part in the instructions, looks like it should be painted green.

    Focke-Wulf Ta 183 'Huckebein' - 1/17

Hi guys, I’m helping someone out with a 3D printed prototype of a Ta183 Huckebein. In the long run it will be scaled up a bit for RC, for now it’s only a proof of concept, intended to hang up to the ceiling. The scale is about 1/17 (span 617mm - 24.3”). It’s printed on an FDM printer in...

    Do you have a dog?

Hi guys, Well, in august this year we drove home with an 8 week old Labrador puppy! Her name is Nora, by now she's 4 months old and very active. She's a 'field bred' labrador so her energy level is trough the roof. Lot's of happy moments, but as you might have noticed at the moment my...

    Do you have a dog?

Hi guys, After much debate we're planning to get a dog (Labrador pup) this summer, still preparing the garden and working out how to manage all the dog things... I was wondering who has or has had a dog here? Feel free to show us a picture of your dog. Cheers
