Tank weathering advice
Very sound advice from Tim. Although I have not worked at such a large scale as 1/16 I imagine weathering is similar at all scales. I reckon almost all effects, dust, rain streaks, oil stains, wet and dry mud etc can be achieved with oils and pigments. One YouTube video I can recommend is Steve... -

Zvezda 1/72 40mm Bofors AA gun.
Not a lot of progress but getting there. The base was given a coat of black Stynylrez primer. Then detail painting using Vallejo paints. I have given it a brown oil wash which is drying. It will take a few days in a warm place as the oil wash tends to soak into the foam. The wash will tone...- Jim R

Mixing materials on a diorama base, be careful!
Despite what it says on the tin true drying times are often far longer. Paints, glue, fillers, putties etc can be surface dry in the time stated but to fully cure can take much, much longer. I have found that even a simple decal setting solution can effect the paint if not enough time is given...- Jim R
