Welcome to this Anniversary GB, 90 years of Spitfires.

I’ve got to pick up a parcel from the post office which will be very relevant to this gb 😊 Geoff.

    Hi I'm back

    Welcome back John 👍 Geoff.

AK Real colors. Same paint different bottle (worse in this case).

That’s pretty poor 🙁 I like AK real colour paint but am not a fan of the new bottles for all the reasons you mention Ian. It’s also much easier to mix the paint properly in a jar in my opinion. I wish they would change back to jars. Geoff.

    Hi

Hello Tony and welcome to the forum 👋 Geoff.

Eduard 1/48 Spitfire MkVb (late) ProfiPACK

A bit more progress to report 🙂 I gave it primer coat of my usual Mr Surfacer 1500 which revealed a few seams that needed a bit of tidying. While I was at it I decided to putty the first part of the wings to get rid of the rivets as per the real thing. This was all sanded/polished before...

Eduard 1/48 Spitfire MkVb (late) ProfiPACK

Cheers Joe, I’m pleased with it 👍 Thanks Paul, it’s a shame to hide it really but it was fun building it 😊 Thanks Colin, yes they are cracking kits, just the decals that can be a bit hit and miss 👍 Geoff.

Nuther poll - What type of scale modelling do you do/like most?

I’ve built pretty much everything apart from motorcycles and trains. However it’s only aircraft that really interest me mainly due to my lifelong obsession with aviation. I’ve toyed with the idea of trying cars again, I built some custom cars when I was a teenager and enjoyed them. Geoff.

IBG 1/72 Supermarine Spitfire PR Type A/B/E

I’ve knocked this one on the head chaps 🙁. I’ve found it far too fiddly for me and am just not enjoying it. As for the kit, the detail is superb, the fit is ok. There are a few little niggles but that could have been down to me. If you like 1/72 scale it’s a nice little kit and you will be...

    Latest Acquisitions (2026)

That’s a great bargain Peter 😀 It’s probably worth that for the Cartograph decals alone. Geoff.

    Gary's Academy 1/48 scale Wildcat F4F-F

Very nicely done, great looking “office” and undercarriage bay 👍 Geoff.

    Movie time

Wow Chris, that must have been something special to see. Shame you didn’t make it into the film though 🙁 There are one or two little errors like the combine harvester, another is the quite modern 1960 door of Robert Shaws cottage 😮 Geoff

    Latest Acquisitions (2026)

This arrived today 😃 I really like Eduards Spitfires and these are good value. X2 models, PE, masks and decals for 15 options. Thats me done buying for a while until I’ve built a couple at least Geoff.

    Movie time

I like all the films mentioned so far 😊 I would add The Battle of Britain, 633 Squadron and the Dambusters. Although not 100% accurate they capture the spirit of the stories they are telling. I find the scene at the end of the Dambusters showing the empty rooms and personal items the men were...

    AK Real Colours.

I’ve been using them for a while and am a fan of them. They started off with the glass jars which were great for all the reasons you state Ian. Then if I remember correctly they revamped the range and changed to the plastic dropper bottles. Easier to ship apparently, lighter and don’t break...

Eduard 1/48 Spitfire MkVb (late) ProfiPACK

Quick update All buttoned up and ready for primer 😊 The seams don’t look too bad but I’ll get a better idea how much clean up is needed once it’s got some black primer on it. Another update soon, thanks for looking 👍 Geoff.

Eduard 1/48 Spitfire MkVb (late) ProfiPACK

Thanks Tony 👍 Cheers Neil 👍 yes it’s a shame but with the side door open it will be a bit more visible than on some WW2 fighters. Thanks mate 👍 Geoff.

    Another polishing question.....

Cheers Andy, that makes sense 👍. He didn’t really give a reason he was talking about a new primer he had used which he said polished really smooth. I didn’t think this was a necessary step hence my question. Cheers, Geoff.
