    Tim’s 1/48 Eduard FW 190 A-2

Slowed down a bit recently. I gloss varnished the airframe with Klear, and got a pebble dashed finish that seemed to be a little water repellent when applying decals. The decals therefore needed many coats of Micro sol to try and get rid of the bubbles…..there is still a little silvering, mostly...

    Tim’s 1/48 Eduard FW 190 A-2

Well, basic colours are now on…. Very slight overspray on the bulge below the yellow will be dealt with during detail painting……yellow was easy, pre sprayed with flesh colour first….a trick I learned on the little blokes….. Quite happy with the mottling for a first time…..the V shaped blob...

    Tim’s 1/48 Eduard FW 190 A-2

Blue bits now done and masked off…..forgot to take pictures :( Ready for the camo stuff, then off comes some of the masking (wing undersides are also masked) then it’s on to the mottling……🙀. You can probably just see the pencil lines I use to delineate camo areas. Once the lighter grey violet...

    Latest Acquisitions (2025)

Whole new world for me……bought a few Zinnfiguren flat figures off of eBay….I blame the book 😉 They are quite detailed seen up close…. …and they really, really, are flat….. Those were ACW artillerymen. These were a job lot of odds and sods for practice….no idea what any of them are...

    Tim’s 1/48 Eduard FW 190 A-2

Priming and preshading now done….bit wiggly because I’m out of practice…..

    Tim’s 1/48 Eduard FW 190 A-2

Construction now complete, all parts cleaned down, and mounted/masked ready for priming…. Close up of wheel well and engine masking, I’ve used my usual wet tissue method….. Priming next, then black lining…..I’ll post more once I’ve black lined it…..

    Tim’s 1/48 Eduard FW 190 A-2

More progress…. Airframe just about done. Just a little filler to clean up and then the tail and control surfaces can be added….. As you can see, fit was pretty good… Underside needed a little filler….. One side of the wing fillet needed a touch of filler…. and just a little here…...

    Latest Acquisitions (2025)

New book (for me). Been after this for years but could never find it at a reasonable price. It sometimes goes for stupid prices, but is generally about three times its original cover price. Anyway, got (very) lucky on eBay and viola… Need to find some flat figures now 😁

    Tim’s 1/48 Eduard FW 190 A-2

Bit of progress made now…. Office done ready for buttoning up….. and a pilots eye view (more or less)…. The eagle eyed amongst you will notice that the joystick isn’t from the kit…..the original is in orbit somewhere around Jupiter so I scratched a replacement from nickel silver...

    What's on the Bench 2025

Well the V3000 S has progressed, and is ready for paint. It will now languish on the paint bench until the FW 190 is ready for paint…..it will get primed with the aircraft…..

    Tim’s 1/48 Eduard FW 190 A-2

Hi all. This will be my tribute build for this GB. Looks good in the box. Nice crisp sprues, though there seem to be two sets of wings…. Lots of canopies….I’m sure all will become clear once I start….. Good decals, masks, a bit of resin, and cockpit etch… Excellent instruction book...

    German V3000S truck decals

Hi all. I’m building one of these (see “on the bench” for progress) and have mislaid the decals. I’ve had a look around with no luck. Not sure Revell still make it, it’s been in the stash for an age, so haven’t bothered contacting them. Does anyone know of an aftermarket source for some...

    What's on the Bench 2024

Not posted much recently, but after the fantasy cavalry slog I fancied something a little different. I therefore picked this. It’s been in my stash for at least ten years. It’s a repop of an ICM kit, so has all the ICM strengths and weaknesses. It has very good detail and is well moulded...

Victrix 28mm Norman cavalry done up as fantasy horse

As the title says, there are Victrix 28mm Norman cavalry done up as fantasy Rohanesque cavalry. Banner was a product of the excellent Little big man studios. Suffered a lack of mojo during these so they seemed to go on forever. Still, done now, and they look the part 👍 All paint by...

    What's on the Bench 2024

Well I’ve finally got to the end of these little blokes. Don’t know why they took so long, but I was glad to get them off my bench……. Hope they are up to standard. I’ll post some more pictures in the relevant forum, along with a calibration shot. 👍
