    Ok so ive only tried making a base a couple of times before and both got binned, had a go with something simple for the volvo ,still a work in progress but think it'll work

    Started fitting the windows and got some lights in.

    The body is now on the chassis and the wheels ,bumpers and boot spoiler fitted. Windows being masked for painting along with the door mirrors ,wipers etc.

    So the paint has had a few coats of gloss clear, sanded with 7000 grit wet and dry and polished with a 12000grit polishing pad.most of decals have been applied, light lenses to be painted and added then the body will go on the chassis before fitting the windows.

    The drivers backside is now firmly planted in the seat. The interior tub is attached to the chassis and ive made a start on some decals which are some of the nicest decals ive come across. The body has had a coat of white base just waiting for some gloss laquer .

    Nearly done with the driver, ive cut the lettering from the decal seatbelts and stuck them on just to add a bit of interest.he just needs a coat of flat clear. Found some old decals ive used to add a bit of colour to the helmet, red and green to match the castrol stripes on the car.

    A bit more progress, painted and fitted the seat and fire extinguisher and the dash is done, lots of painting black plastic black! Starting adding some colour.to the driver and ive also stripped the chrome off the wheels and painted them to look a bit more like a polished aluminium.

    So getting the driver to fit was my biggest concern as I have a complete lack of experience with figures, he's arms are to bent at the elbow to reach the wheel and moving the seat forward wasn't really an option as I will have to leave out the pedals as it is. I have attached at the shoulder...

    Well here is my entry for the GB, 1985 DTM winner. Volvo 240 turbo by beemax, looks reasonably straight forward, no engine,comes with a mask set. I'm gonna try my hand with a figure at the wheel. Not sure this is gonna look right without a towbar for the caravan though :thinking:
