Thanks Graeme. Got my pine trees painted. The two in front are previous trees that needed some medical attention. There will be bad weather and snow fall later. Six solid days on these trees and still some tinkering to do. Test fitted the placement and have marked the spots with the unused...- rtfoe

Walked into Daisho the other day and bought this cutter. Haven't used one of these for ages since art school days to cut friskets to airbrush. Double beveled tungsten blade keeps its sharp tip when you cut compound curves. If it ever gets blunt I'll use it for scribing. Daisho is a Japanese... -
Revisiting kits we built in our youth......
Very nostalgic. After accumulating some skills and age experience I have re-built a couple of Airfix, Matchbox and Monogram kits with a lot of cursing in between and questioning why did I do it. Hi Scottie, I have tried asparagus ferns in the past but find them too delicate and flat without enough body. Anyway assembling my trees need a set of instructions by the looks of it... Don't know what it's called and is a far cry from pine needles which I need to coat with finely cut hemp rope to simulate that. Thanks Scottie, started putting up the branches. There's a patch in the middle that I haven't covered. Took me awhile to get into rhythm. Will have to remove the bottom set as they're facing the wrong direction. Cheers, Wabble- rtfoe

Hi, spent a few hours drilling attachment holes on the pine tree trunks, five around and spaced one cm per level. Six trunks altogether. I will be attaching the branches with CA. Close up...the polystyrene block will hold the trees up when in WIP. Each level is drilled between the previous...- rtfoe

After a coat of Gunze Mr Surfacer 1000 primer the lines of the MkIIc can be seen...I think my chin scoop is a bit pronounced, might think of cutting it back a little and curved upwards more... The dark patches were just black sprayed earlier to see what it looked like with some cordite stains...- rtfoe

Hi all, the joys of masking is prevalent when spray painting as is evident in these next images... After scratching the prop spinner I decided to use the extra spinner from the Hasegawa kit as it has a more bulbeous look. Mine was too sharp. Cheers, Wabble- rtfoe

Hope images load faster... The prop was painted as well except I didn't paint the tips first so it'll take longer with lots of masking ahead. With extra paint remaing I painted the interior of my Hudson. This shows that I sometimes prefer painting with parts still attached to the sprue...- rtfoe

Thanks Scottie and Tony, I had a wonderful Christmas eve at the hospital emergency when I accidentally sliced off the tip of my third finger on the potatoe slicer. Hazards of cooking I suppose. Thought I needed stitches as there was a little bit of bone visible. X-rays were done, tetanus, pain...- rtfoe

The sticks are still drying so I roumaged my spare parts box and found the old figures from a flood ruined diorama I did hundreds of years ago. One looks at them and you'll see why. Lots of puttying for scarfs, bandolias and leggings to beef them up to winter gear. I'll add wool caps and scarfs...- rtfoe
