    Wild Camping / Bushcrafting

Another purchase just come through. I have a pot that i use for open fire burns which obviously gets rather black and dirty. So with that in mind. Now i have a very nice gas burner, i thought i'd get a kettle to go with it. This kettle has heat exchange fins on the bottom of it to make it boil...

    Foliage glue

Some of you may remember a Normandy diorama is was/am in the process of making. I've stopped making it because all the foliage i put on the 'trees' has started to come off. I used a spray adhesive to glue it all in place and after being happy with the glue and how well it stuck, i am now not...

    Wild Camping / Bushcrafting

Well i got out today for a quick coffee after work. Went to a new spot for me. I followed the Speyside Way just down from Boat o' Brig. Stunning scenery and lots of quality quiet time. There was a mass of wild raspberries everywhere. And they tasted lovely Found some potential camping spots...

    Wild Camping / Bushcrafting

Not been out for a coffee for a while now due to various reasons. But i intend to get back out soon and thought i would give myself a little treat. Bought myself a new gas stove. It's really powerful and will boil a litre of water in about 1.45 mins. Whilst it's nice using my woodgas stove , it...

    1/32 Me262A-1a/U4 (JV44 Hunters and Protectors Project)

So my first time back at the bench since late May. Had a few mojo and life issues to deal with. But i have some time off now so thought i'd get some things done to this. Started to build up the undercarriage bay

I was going to crack open my packet of HWG seatbelts for the cockpit. But after the events of the last few weeks, i'm not in the mood to be a sadist. Yes they are fantastic belts when built up. But they are a kit in themselves imho. And at the moment. Actually sitting at the bench is a win. So...

    Mental health awareness

Firstly i shall point out that this is not a 'woe is me thread'. I am just writing it to get this off my chest. As some of you know on here that i suffer with my mental health a lot on occasions. This can range from a simple 'quiet day' to a full blown 'can't leave my bed day'. In the past it...

    Latest Acquisitions (2023)

Just received a delivery from John. I asked a while ago about mirco modelling chisels and John had these in the shop. So i have taken a punt and bought them. Also got a couple of brushes for painting figures too. Might do a review on the chisels once i use them

    Rye Field Model kits

Looking at a few kits and found a Rye Field Model kit with a decent price tag. What are these kits like to build? Never built one of these before but the kit i'm looking at (Jagdpanther) is quite a bit cheaper than the Meng kit i have my eyes on

All that work on the combustion chambers and you can see what exactly? You can see some things 'in the flesh' if you look closely. My crappy camera doesn't really pick it up (it is decades old now). Nearly time to push all these engine bits together and fill the joints then paint

Combustion chambers (and pipes/cables) primed with Mr. Surfacer 1000. Never used the stuff before but seems to give a nice cover. Totally stinks though. Defo a mask job. Will wait for a bit (not sure how long) then i'll paint the chambers/pipes/cables up.

So there we have it. All the pipes fitted. Just got to let the CA cure properly then i'll paint them. Been a long journey to get this far. I can see the end of the tunnel with this engine now lol
