Latest Acquisitions (2023)

The lower SK, Orange and Grey livery, (HeliOps), is based a matter of 3 miles from me now. (XV666 - aka Damian is one of the two stationed at Portland Heliport.)
That may well be on my wish list to build, now I know my failings on my current SK build.

I think that cab may have been donated to Ukraine.

If it has it's gone through a few transitions and I'm not talking ASW. It was a Mk6 then down graded to a Mk5 when passed on to HeliOps. I guess it'll be a Mk whatever as that would make it an export model!!!

It would be strange if HeliOps did transfer it. Only thinking the UK government transferred SK's to Ukraine - no problem. But HeliOps is a private company and use the Kings to train other users. Germany/Ukraine et al.

I stand corrected Rick.

HeliOps to Ukraine

The SK's are being replaced by AW139's. No flying from the site right now as the runway is under some sort of repair. As I'm driving past I can't get to close a look!!!

Once upon a time there was a squirrel. His name was George. George was very inquisitive. He would often rummage through the leaves on the forest floor, sometimes, if he persevered, he would find something tasty he could eat, however a lot of the time he would rummage around for ages trying to find the one thing he really needed.
One day after a long walk, climbing many trees, foraging in many bushes, he found what he was looking for. It was glorious. Significant. Rewarding. He took his find home and cherished it. Shared it with his family and like minded fellows. He held his find above his head and proclaimed loud and clear for all to hear.

I FOUND THE TOPIC.

George would love a Topic. That was the chocolate bar advertised as having a hazelnut in every bite, and squirrels love hazelnuts…….snicker snicker snicker……

Hi all

So Comrade Race's most recent acquisition spurred me onto finally getting a better mask....I only spray water based acrylics and the spray booth vents outside but better to be safe than sorry.

A quick PM chat with him pointed me in the right direction and included a very strong personal recommendation on the company's products overall.

Best of all, a certain forest themed website had them going for almost 50% off RRP, allowing me to by a spare set of filters for the future and all for less than the mask on its own should have cost.

I need to play around with the straps but all seems good and they fit nicely under my glasses too, so no more steaming up!

Thanks @John Race !!!

The usual post arrival shot.....

A quick test fit.....disappointing looking aren't I!! ;) :smiling5:

Somebody had an automatic translator going for that box “art” …
NL P3(R) Halfmaskermasker
As you can probably guess, that translates to English as “half mask mask” :) There is no single-word Dutch equivalent to “respirator”, the best translation probably being something like “filtermasker” (which is a compound noun) but I’m guessing the manufacturer’s translator made just “masker” out of it. “Filter-halfmasker” would have made a lot more sense.

Hood up, dark glasses & gloves would have topped off the look.

I kinda knew that lol.

Just received a delivery from John.

I asked a while ago about mirco modelling chisels and John had these in the shop. So i have taken a punt and bought them. Also got a couple of brushes for painting figures too.

Might do a review on the chisels once i use them

Very nice, do those energy saving bulbs throw out enough heat?
(And I'll not comment on the wiring.......)
