    Couple of bits off to be baked, on the left the gas mask and hose and on the right a couple of pouches for the ‘Christmas truce’ bust.

    Got the oils out and painted his coat and cap. After a bit of research, changed his scarf to this one , 1874nortwich football club, just base layers so still to be detailed with shadows, highlights and dirt.

    FeR Miniatures 1/12th First Sergeant, 20th Maine Gettysburg, 1863

    Got the oils out last night and started on his tunic, along with his leather belts. need to let the oils dry off, maybe add a few more highlights and can then add a matt varnish coat and dirty / dust him up.

    Tommy's War 1/32 TW32S06 – The visit of King George V, France 1918

    Plinth arrived from ElGreco (scale75), so cut up some coffee stirrers and satined then rubbed back tot he wood and then painted in the white ends. Drilled a couple of holes for the paperclip wire and popped onto the base. 1mm tape has arrived so can finish of the the straps. Nearly there now...

    Oils dried nice over night and a final fix in the crockpot. So dirt added via thinned out mix of raw sienna and yellow ochre added in various shades and finally a custom pigment mix of yellow ochre and iron. The rain coat was made of a rubberised material so would have had a slight sheen to it...

    Following a post on planet figure and a link to a video on the IWM site, it appears that the king on his visit to France wore khaki jodhpurs, so it was back out with the oils to create a khaki shade. The boots have also been painted, only a couple of hours work - how, I don’t know
