    Down on the South coast at Barton on Sea photographing some para gliders when a Kestrel got in on the act! I wanted one of them in the same shot and ended up with one that looked like it was hitching a lift :cool:

    Brilliant history - just been reading the story, I was lucky enough to see MH 434 up close taking off from Duxford a few years ago (I'm guessing this was the Spitfire he used?) Naturally will be watching the build with great interest!

    I should have mentioned that as I arrived a Spitfire flew overhead, just grabbed the camera in time for a quick shot! I reckon it was flying into Goodwood,not far away ......

    I am in West Sussex at the moment so visited on my bike! Nice museum with not only lots of the real thing and memorabilia, but plenty of very nice models! Well worth a visit ( more photos of the big stuff if interested !)

    We are near Edinburgh now - visited Cramond Island, accessible twice daily at low tide, concrete pylons are about 3 metres tall, installed to stop U Boats sneaking in..... nice views of the 3 bridges and of course plenty of birds around! - heron and curlew

    I had a good look around this 1947 model recently, the owner has just finished a 2 year rebuild - as Ian says your choice of body! Not seen this type before, apparently constructed from Ash and Aluminium, covered with leather(ette?) Photos may be of interest ........ look forward to your build !
