    D Day

    I am in the Loire Valley - I heard 3 aeroplanes pretty high up, couldn't make them out with the naked eye , grabbed the camera and after enlarging images - discovered they were Piper L4 Grasshoppers . checking online , they were on their way to Normandy for this evening !

    Finished , never fully satisfied but it will have to do ! . I trolled Ebay to find a picture of a correct year registration number, printed it and laminated it as a final touch.

    Dead Sprues !

    Any good use for these , or good ways of disposal? I like to recycle wherever I can and it seems bad to just chuck them, to end up in landfill ... Thanks for ideas !

    Thanks for the comments , on the home stretch now ...... lots of fiddly tubing for brake hoses , speedo , tacho , throttle etc.

    Some more progress, Rear Wheel,Suspension,Chain, Brake and Centre Stand fitted . Not really any tricky bits, just moving on slowly and carefully ........ Excuse the reflections in the shots !

    No dramas so far ........! Exhaust system fitted up - just waiting for more parts to dry before fitting ! Always seems to take 3/4 hours work and not much to show ! All part of the hobby of course .

    a question !! if you could build any model (kit or scratch) what would it be and why ??

    I would really like to build a model of HMS Royal Oak - My Great Uncle Bill Royal was one of over 800 who died in 1939. Not found a kit of this ship, although similar ships are available, I would be glad to hear if anyone knows different !

    Great job ! I also saw a great diorama at the Cavalry Museum in Saumur France in 2015, a temporary exhibition at the time , not sure where it is usually ...... Superb museum if you are ever passing, also 5 minutes from the great tank museum !
