    Waterproof a scale boat

Hi all, this particularly relates to an Italeri 1/35 Elco I'm converting to R/C, which I haven't did before. Although the kit has a removable deck as 1 complete piece, I would preferably have only the centre section of superstructure removable for quick access, possibly removing the fixing tabs...

    Italeri Elco PT

https://www.scalemates.com/kits/italeri-5602-elco-80-torpedo-boat-pt-596--101615 Sorry guys I meant to add that link at the get-go, my bad! Also I'm in Scotland, just west of Glasgow. I'll get those measurements and a rough idea of the weight later today. Brushed/brushless makes no difference...

    Italeri Elco PT

Thanks for getting back guys. Radio gear I have from my planes/drones and trying to re-use the power gear from one of those if poss. Below is the motor/esc combo I have spare, 4 sets of these so could go up to 3 props if need be but would prefer the simpler option of 1. Would 1 of these be...

    Italeri Elco PT

Hi all, at the risk of duplicating/resurrecting old threads here but can't find what I'm looking for. Got a hold of one of these kits and looking at motorising it rather than having just the static model. I've had some experience of r/c but not recent. I'm aware there are kits for the extras...

    Thinking of a 3D printer

My tuppence worth if I may...I had the chance to get my brother-in-laws very cheap when he upgraded. A Voxelab Aries. Decent beginner model, comes already built, easy enough to use, incredibly difficult to master! I have however made some equipment for my modelling, from freely available files...

    Best model you ever made?

"best" can be so subjective. The one I'm most pleased to have finished is my revell 1/400 enterprise, just completed couple weeks ago, back and forwards on it for a year, with long periods off it when it began to get the better of me. I'm not a scratch-builder, (I have neither the skill nor...

    Ritchie's Tupolev SB2 Bomber 1/72

At last, completed as much as it will be. Lost the will to even go up the loft for a week or so there! Tidied up and couple of painted insignia as had no other decals to replace the kit ones. I'm afraid there was no attempt at weathering as I just couldn't look at this little fekker any more...

    Ritchie's Tupolev SB2 Bomber 1/72

Hi all, getting a proper butt-kicking from this little blighter! So much filling and sanding, 3 or 4 goes with curing time at almost every main joint and still not quite getting there, seems to be going on forever for a 72 scale. Despite best efforts, with the details being raised on the...

    Ritchie's Tupolev SB2 Bomber 1/72

Very late start on this but since it's very small and basic it shouldn't take long to catch up! Remembering now why I don't do 1/72, there are actually 2 figures included in this kit but way too small for me to even start to think about including. There's so much flash and fettling for almost...

    Ritchie's Tupolev SB2 Bomber 1/72

First time on a group build, be gentle! Don't usually do 72 scale as the eyes, in this case, do not have it. But found this cheap on eBay and it seems to fit the criteria. Far as my limited reading on it goes, (and full credit to this builder where most of my info came from...

    One of THOSE days....

I'm sure everyone has had at least one of these, ranging from mildly irritated , to full blown WTF days! Doing my 1/32 Revell Spitfire, (ok not the most expensive!), but really put a lot of effort into this one. So many days spent filling and sanding, repeating, to get it to possibly my best...

    Slowly improving.....so slowly......

Some of the things I've done so far in various stages/attempts at slight weathering. My loft is my workspace so have to be careful in what paints etc I use as ventilation is almost non-existent. Running out of space so the hard decisions will have to be made soon!

    Slowly improving.....so slowly......

Hi all, used the forum to learn a lot lately so decided time to stump up for the learning! As with most here, modelled as a youngster then found other interests, was only after she buggered off I thought all the money I spent on her could have gotten me so many models! Anyhoo, many many years...
