Hi all... I’m pretty much calling this one done for now...He’s just sitting on a temporary plinth As I’ve got another on order. I’ve decided to include the bazooka but I will post some final pics once the new plinth arrives... I’ve taken some pics in different lights but you should get the...

    Another 101st Airborne bust

Cheers chaps... once again..much appreciated! I’ve made a little progress on this and hit a bit of a quandary?... The figure comes with what I would call a bazooka which for some reason doesn’t seem right with the figure as a whole although I can’t quite put my finger on why...so I’m...

    Another 101st Airborne bust

Thanks all...really, really appreciate the comments... progress is going to be slow on this one mainly because my son turns 18 on Monday so I’ve been given lots of jobs around the house to do so the one household at a time who might come to visit isn’t distracted by the odd jobs I’ve been...

    Another 101st Airborne bust

Hi all, Next up for me is another 101st Airborne bust by Young Miniatures... This is the Bastogne one so I’ve tried for the chilly and disheveled look... As usual I did the eyes first before the skin tones... However once I’d completed the skin tones I decided that the irises where much too...

    101st Airborne 1944.

Hi all, Thanks very much for all the positive comments it really is very encouraging to hear people like what I’ve done.... anyway here’s a few daylight shots although it’s not very bright here today... I couldn’t resist getting out my D Day “cricket “ for sound effects whilst doing this...

    101st Airborne 1944.

Hi all Just about calling this finished now... it was just a little too late to get decent pictures in daylight in my modelling room so I may try some more tomorrow... Pictures in artificial light really accentuate some of the colours as you can see from the pics below... Anyway sorry about...

    101st Airborne 1944.

Anyway things are staring to come together with this although the head is just dry fitted at the moment and still some work to do on the multitude of straps...( not to mention 2 stars to delete!!....seriously I am glad you told me Steve!) ...but that’s it for today... Thanks Jason

    101st Airborne 1944.

Thanks Paul and Thanks Tim.... I’ve thought long and hard about how best to depict the 50 stars on the shoulder patch as I think not doing it right will let down the rest of the detail....so.... ...the stars on the US flag are actually laid out in 6 vertical lines of 5 stars... interspersed with...

    101st Airborne 1944.

I’ve made a little progress but there so much detail on this bust that it’s taking me a while... lots of work done but collectively very little finished...The only thing that about done is the reserve parachute... still some tidying up to do on it but I’ve handled it that much doing the detail...

    Plastic on Parade

For me it really just a window sill in my office / modelling room... but it’s rapidly filling up... as I mainly do busts and figures they don’t take up too much room, although I do have some things from our house move 4 years ago still in the garage Jason

Thanks everyone... I have to admit to being very flattered by your responses to the job so far... it’s really encouraging so thanks very much.... Having said that I haven’t got that much done today other than the life jacket ( it’s painted Matt at the moment does anybody know if it should have a...

    101st Airborne 1944.

Hi all... bit of a slow weekend in terms of progress .... maybe I’m slipping back into tortoise mood! I did spend a lot of time deciding on the correct shade for the jump jacket and finally opted for a lighter green rather than a khaki as there seems to be examples of each and every shade all...

    101st Airborne 1944.

Hi all I’ve cracked on with the face this afternoon and almost done... Just dry fitted the helmet and I think the face is probably modelled on Matt Damon from Saving Private Ryan.. maybe?.. That’s it for now ... thanks for looking in! Jason

    101st Airborne 1944.

Hi all, Next up for me is a 101st Airborne figure by Young Miniatures.... it’s been in the stash for quite a while and whilst being a lovely figure I’ve always been put off by the fact that there’s so much detail to it... with my recent flurry of activity the stash is depleted so now is as good...
