I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but there were only 48 stars on the USA flag during WWII. It went up to 50 in the late 1950's. Soz

Arrrrgh.... Thanks for that Steve.... at least it’s not a big job dotting out a couple of them.... that’s what happens when you don’t do your research!

Anyway things are staring to come together with this although the head is just dry fitted at the moment and still some work to do on the multitude of straps...( not to mention 2 stars to delete!!....seriously I am glad you told me Steve!)
...but that’s it for today...

Hi Jason
Looking better and better. Reserve parachute looks excellent. Flag is great and such a clever way of doing it. I doubt many people would want to or be able to count the stars :tongue-out3:

Just checked the layout of the stars on the flag ...and the one in 1944 is completely different....it’s eight vertical lines of six stars each......so it looks like I will be doing them again!

Jason, he's looking good. Your painting skills have markedly improved and it shows. :thumb2:

Cheers,

Thanks

Now that's dedication - I'd have left them The bust is looking terrific Jason, beautifully painted.

Sorry to have caused you more work Jason. The bust is really stunning and I would'nt have wanted someone to have pointed it once finished.

Hi all
Just about calling this finished now... it was just a little too late to get decent pictures in daylight in my modelling room so I may try some more tomorrow...
Pictures in artificial light really accentuate some of the colours as you can see from the pics below...FE17E949-84A8-43FC-AEE7-F4496C841923.jpeg

Anyway sorry about picture overload once again but there was am awful lot going on with this bust and I didn’t want to miss anything...Sadly the stash is pretty much depleted as things seem to take so long to arrive these days....Hopefully I will be making a start on something else soon...

Simply outstanding Jason. A real credit to your talents. Looking forward to seeing your next project

Hi Jason, really a very neat finish. Some proper figure painting here. Well done!

Cheers

That’s impressive, I’d be working under a microscope to even see detail that small.
