    Compressor question.

Just though I would ask the collective, do I really need a compressor with an air tank? It is not as if I am painting square yards of stuff, just models, and I tend to paint a bit at a time so the compressor is not used to the limit. Sorry if this has been asked before, I did a search but...

    SD.KFz.7 Km m 11 half track.

Not much progress to report as the weather has been good so been out on the bike a lot the last few days. I have got some more sub assemblies built and a bit of PE done which will probably never be seen. I really must buy some proper PE tools as most kits nowadays seem to have it. Still not...

    Mirror Models Bulldozer.

I will say this is done now, probably could have used some more pigments but I did not want to overdo it. [/url Fitting all those super fragile pedals and levers was fun. If you pull on the rope where it is connected to the winch the blade lifts but it is not heavy enough to lower itself...

    SD.KFz.7 Km m 11 half track.

While waiting for stuff for the dozer I thought I would have a look in here. And very interesting it looks too. The brown sprues are for the tracks, each sprue has 60 parts, and there are 6 sprues, so that will take an hour or two. Nice clear instructions and paint guide, 2 sheets of PE, 3...

    Mirror Models Bulldozer.

In order to make the blade mechanism removable I had to replace the rather flimsy plastic channel that carries the cable from the winch to the blade with a bit of brass tube I had, not exactly scale but it will do. And removed. The front frame hangs on 2 pegs below the radiator and the...

    Mirror Models Bulldozer.

A bit more done tonight with the chipping, looks OK to me as I did not want to overdo it. When the tracks are on and I introduce some earth pigments or some equivalent muck they should be fine. A lot of work to do on the engine with paint and washes but it will get there, says he hopefully...

    Mirror Models Bulldozer.

Not been doing much these last few days as it has been that warm that working in the loft was not possible so I spent long days on the bike instead and even then it was warm inside all that protective gear. There are quite a lot of small parts to make up one track frame. With a bit of fettling...

    Mirror Models Bulldozer.

I am posting this here because it is being built as a civilian machine as opposed to military. If you have read my moaning about little problems with the HEMTT Tanker you may wonder why I am now going to build this model which is known to be a wee bit problematic. The fact that I got it cheap...

    Italeri fuel servicing truck.

Started on this tonight. Looks to be a reasonable build with the usual bit of care to get all the axles lined up. I am thinking of going with the alternative green/black /brown camo scheme, but that may change. Andy.

    First try with hairspray.

I thought I would have a try at chipping with hairspray, how hard can it be? ;) A coat of rusty brown with hairspray on top left for 10 minutes to dry. Then a coat of buff, also left for 10 minutes to dry. Then I set about it with a couple of different brushes and a cocktail stick...

    Meng Cougar MRAP.

Just about done with this now. There are a few tiny decals to put on and a bit of dust pigment here and there. To be quite honest I have kind of lost interest in it now, it was a good kit to build with plenty of fiddly bits to keep the interest but now it just...

    Meng Cougar MRAP.

This model nearly ended up in the bin, again! Looking through my paint I found a bottle of Vallejo Desert sand which is the colour asked for in the instructions. Model Air,sprays straight from the bottle, that will do for me..............not. Luckily I started on the turret, not good so tried...

    Roden kits.

Anyone out there got any experience with Roden kits? I have been looking at buying one but thought I would ask if there were any known issues with them. Things like quality of parts, fit, finish etc. Andy.

    No thanks.

A mate of mine asked me if I would like to build his 1.24 Airfix Typhoon kit for him. Now this kit has all the things I like, it has lots of parts and looks like a complex build however, my recent 5 minute flirtation with the little Brewster reminded me that after 20 odd years of building/flying...

    Zvezda Bumerang.

I would say this is done, to the best of my ability that is. For some reason the black bits do not show up too well but that just might be my rubbish picture taking skill. Looking at the pictures now I see that I have forgotten to fit the mirrors, but they wouldn't last in combat anyway. ;) Andy.

    Meng Cougar MRAP.

Work on the Bumerang has ground to a stop as I barely have enough green paint to cover the wheels so while I wait for more to arrive I made a start on this. Quite a lot of plastic in the box. Looks to be a well made kit, no signs of flash as yet so onward and upward. Andy.

    Zvezda 1.35 Bumerang.

Right, let's see what's in here then. Sprue shots. Tyres, clear parts, decals, instructions and colour schemes, the other side shows the model in Parade green which is a bit dull after all. Amuch more...

    Tamiya Brewster B339 Buffalo.

I thought that enough was enough after many years building/flying/crashing radio controlled model aircraft but no, I went and bought this as a little diversion. It was very cheap and I also bought a PE set for it so that I could try it out but looking at the tiny cockpit on the model I think...

    Zvezda BM21 Grad.

This one is also finished as far as I am concerned, last things to fit were the screen/windows and wipers. I tried a little bit of pigment on this but as I have never done proper weathering before I am a bit tentative, or afraid of going over the top and spoiling the model. On the other hand...

    Zvezda T90 MS.

That is me finished with this now, put a little dirt on it but it hardly shows, maybe next time I will get a bit more adventurous. I really must set up a better background for taking pictures rather than the disaster area that is my bench. Andy.
