Good idea to have another part to fall back on toto, nothing gets boring then. As for those lintels, painting the stucco first and then the lintels I would give you the ability to do any wash that you feel would come off the lintels , esp shadow lines. John- John Race

what are you watching ?
Always surprises people when you say you don't watch or follow any matches. I spent a lot of time as a child out of the country, but do remember coming back from Hong Kong in the winter and having to play football at school in the cold. Think that was the reason. These days if not in the cave... -

Lots have been done, but it's the drying time before you can do the next paint part. Now waiting for 24 hrs for the X22 Gloss to fully dry before attempting an oil wash. The cover over the gun happened becuse there was a large blob with paint, kept the ab still too long ! Haven't gone...- John Race

Masking.
I have some tapes from a certain cheap online seller, they work well, but as Jim says ; "It is important to allow the underlying paint to fully cure before masking. Also using a good primer does help to make the paint layer robust." They work well esp with Tamia paints that have dried fully.- John Race

Model makes.
Some of the Eastern block models are a bit odd, old moulds past their sell by date. Then you have Mini Art who take things to a different level. Plenty of choice these days.- John Race
