AK Real Colours Acrylic markers - any good?

I have a few and they come in very handy for little bits & bobs. Black is great for any unseen parts you've missed, the primary colours are good for buttons, dials, lights etc, and aluminium also comes in very handy. I haven't used them for large areas, but for a quick dab when you can't be...

Model Makers Marking Out and Cutting Jig For Scratch Building (10cm)

It bears all the hallmarks of a (filament) 3D print.

    tamiya extra thin cement

As I hinted at above, the original post was made a very long time ago.

    GRASS AND TAMIYA PAINTS

I reuse my pipettes many many times, my current pair have been on the go for at least a year. Eventually they split and need replacing but I certainly don't use a fresh one each time 😲 I have one that stays perfectly clean, only ever used for dispensing clean thinner, then another for...

    My first car

That looks great for such a small scale, and brilliant idea to reproduce your first car. I have a full sized moggy to repaint once the owner has had a bit of welding done. Same dark blue colour too.

    Warhammer 40k Shokkjump Dragsta

Thanks everyone. I messed up with the pictures a bit, duplicating one and missing these two out.

    Warhammer 40k Shokkjump Dragsta

This was a father's day present from my lad. A bit different from the norm on here but I do like a bit of variety. Primer and a few of the base colours were airbrushed but the majority is brush work, using various paints from AK, Citadel & Army Painter

    What's on the Bench 2025

All my other projects are on hold at the moment while I play with this, a fathers day pressie from my lad. Tons of work have gone into it so far and there's still a way to go but it's a great refresher after getting bogged down with having so many other things in the go at once. A Warhammer...

    Tamiya Fireblade

Thanks guys. I'm working on a (real) RG500 in Pepsi livery for a mate, so that's probably going to be my next model bike build, once I've found a suitable kit & decals.

Walked toward the light but turned back

Cricky Jim, what an ordeal! I'm happy to hear that you came out the other side and wish you all the best for a full and speedy recovery.

    1/35 TAMIYA StuG 1V

Welcome to the dark side John. Finally 😂 I think I went from spending at least half of my time stripping & cleaning the airbrush, to actually being able to concentrate on the spraying, rather than than worrying about when the next clog would come.

    Latest Acquisitions (2026)

Yum yum! I always fancied one of those.

    Chipping lacquer paint.

I've done it with Mr color lacquers Jim. It does work, but as Chris says, it's harder work than water based acrylics. In one way that's a good thing, as you can get more control as the process is slower, just be very light with your layers or it's really difficult to break through to the...

    Macross / Robotech 1/72 VT-1 Super Ostrich

Great paintwork, it already has that lived-in look. Mr Color is my favourite paint and makes up the majority of my airbrush range.
