Desert Island Kits
So you are shipwrecked on a lovely desert island, 🏝️🏝️🏝️.......but luckily your fave box of kits got washed up with you....and, it also had your nippers, adhesive, tweezers, paint, varnish. Lucky or what! I know, I know, its a stretch.... :) The question being what three (3) kits would you... -

No bike at the moment, not sure if I'll get another, old age creeping in, etc, Lol.... Recommend me a Sherman 1:35 scale
One of my first models when I got back into the hobby, was an Airfix 1:72 Sherman Firefly. I think I would now like to build another Sherman, but bigger in 1:35 scale. So can anyone recommend me a good Sherman kit? Not too fussed about extra's, PE, etc, just a nice kit to make. I've already...- pjgtech

Yes, a paint comparison chart / info of any sort is always useful. I use several types of paint, Tamiya, Mr Hobby, Humbrol, AK, etc and whenever I start a new model one of the first things I do is check to see which paints I need, and whether I have them or not. Cheers EDIT, just a thought... -

TBH, I watch very littel normal live broadcast TV these days. I mostly peruse You Tube or a bit of Netflix or Prime. -

This one is now done! Finished the build, added a coat of varnish, added the decals, gave it another coat of varnish, added some light weathering, a brown panel liner, a light mud wash, a light rust wash. Added two stretched sprue aerials. Primed the tracks, added a steel coat, then a rust wash...- pjgtech

Chrome Covering Removal
I have used bleach, plain, and cheap, not one of the coloured variants! I placed the chrome parts in a container, covered them with bleach and left them overnight, the chrome came off great. As above can agitate with a toothbrush or similar for any stubborn parts. The parts were then well washed...- pjgtech

Model makes.
Tamiya are pretty good, if not the most detailed, but always seem to have a good fit and easy to build (IMHO). I think the standard of kits in general now has improved over what we had many years ago, only "challenging" kits I've had since my re-introduction to scale model building are the few...- pjgtech

Not happy with the tracks, they are ok, but.... The flexi rubber/plasticky ones.... I normally get on ok with them via CA on the join. But, for some reason on this one (can't remember why TBH?) I decided to follow the instructions, (after already CA'ing the join) by melting the join via a heated...- pjgtech
