    I always drain the compressor at the end of a spraying session and leave the drain plug out just the same as a full size compressor in a spray shop. Regarding lacquer thinners affecting rubber o rings and seals, this is a possibility but if you don't leave those parts soaking in thinners or...

    If I'm understanding correctly the leak is from the main body of the tank, if it is don't risk using it as I have seen the damage that a full size one in a panel shop can do when it let's go.

    Is the leak from a welded seam or around the drain plug fitting. If it's around a seam or in the body of the receiver tank then Leyton O is 100% right, ditch it immediately or a nasty incident could occur. If the leak is from the threads where the drain plug screws in then a good clean MAY work...

    I believe that the Academy and Gakken kits are the same. A 1/16 MG TC (my first 1:1 car) kit is on ebay at the moment currently £11.50.

    Holy Grail kit finally purchased. Auction site item in a tatty box but contents perfect. 1/16 scale and fairly rare. Will be building my Dad's first car in the UK and also had the privilege of repairing and driving an example in South Africa.
