Nick's Airfix 1/35 WWII British Army 30-CWT Truck

Well, with all the extra work the rest of you are putting into this Group Build, my basic out of the box build is looking just that! However, progress has been made and its surprising how quickly the parts are disappearing from the box. Chassis is all built up now and I've started looking at the...

    Latest Acquisitions (2023)

I don't usually post in this thread, but this may amuse you.... Wife went out for lunch with a couple of her older siblings and one gave her this, which he had picked up at a boot sale as "I know Nick does models". "He put it in the boot of my car for me and my hands were black by the time I...

Nick's Airfix 1/35 WWII British Army 30-CWT Truck

And with a couple of other little projects out of the way, this has finally made it on to the bench and we are making a start.... Ejector pin marks filled with Mr Surfacer 500 and a few small parts glued together. Nick

Revell 1/144 US Landing Ship Medium

Finally got this one finished. Started it in January 2022 after getting it as a Christmas present from my daughter. I struggled a bit, not having built a floaty thing for about 45 years or more and if it hadn't been a present I'm sure it wouldn't be done now and may even have ended up in the...

Karl & Andrews Soviet wingy thing GB Chat thread.

Guys - if its alright with you, I'd like to tag along with this Group Build. My chosen victim is this one......... Thanks, Nick.

    Tamiya 1/12 Suzuki Katana 1100

Well, this kit holds the title of having spent longest in my stash, that is, not counting the thirty or so really old kits that have travelled with me from the time before all that adult stuff. I bought it on a trip to Preston from the now defunct Transport Models whilst on a trip to visit my...

    Bird Watching a Relaxing Hobby

Chris @boatman look away now! Ok, not a bird but a fair sized hornet decided to inspect the 'model room' (as my wife calls it). Managed to put a glass over it and then slid an a4 cutting mat underneath and help it back out the window. Had quite a few in this year.... Nick

    Airfix 1/32 Bond Bug

Bit of a nostalgia build, this one. I remember my father taking me to the motorcycle show in London when I was about nine and they had one of these on a stand that had been completely sectioned down the middle. Anyway, when Airfix announced that they were re-issuing the kit for the first time...

Nick's Airfix 1/35 WWII British Army 30-CWT Truck

Well, thanks Peter for setting up this group build. I'll get this first post up as a place-holder and will likely make an actual start in a week or two. So, this is what I'm going with: Its a new tooling from Airfix and their collaboration in 1/35 with Academy. Sprue shots: Yes, not a...

Pete's wheeled cargo movers GB. Aug - Dec 2023. Chat thread.

Peter, if its alright with you, I'd like to enter this group build with this one: I probably won't be starting immediately, but I'll get a post up for the build later in the week. Nick

    Show us yours...again

I've sold a couple of my motorbikes recently and the space its freed up has allowed me to shuffle my workshop around a bit. Moving my bench grinder and tool boxes along the wall has given me some additional room in my spraying area. I'm no longer wedged into the corner quite so tightly. Its...

    The Motorbike Thread

Yes, agreed Steve, but in truth I'm trying to thin out my modest collection of bikes and also want to put this one back on the road - last used in 2016..... Nick.

    The Motorbike Thread

Said a rather sad farewell to this one recently. I bought it new in 2007 and it was a really great bike. However, when a colleague pointed out I'd only done 188 miles between the last two MOTs, I decided to let her go. What a great bike - commuting, track days and two-up trips on the...

What flew over your house (yesterday)

Rubbish phone pics, for which I apologise, but this Apache has been circling around all evening and making a right old racket..... And he's still at it! Nick

    People???

Nice to see the Scram out on the backroads. Shame about the rubbish. I hate having to get past the Gestapo at the tip just to throw my rubbish away. Meantime, this was the scene in Stockholm yesterday. Apparently students were graduating and this is tradition.... Nick

    Nick's Aoshima 1/12 GPz900R - Top Gun. Jakko's Movie/TV GB

Calling this finished before it all falls apart on me. Managed to get some pictures outside this morning despite it being a bit breezy. The kit is not the best and took quite a lot of work in some areas, particularly the bodywork and exhausts. Final fitting of the bodywork was somewhat...

    Nick's Aoshima 1/12 Kawasaki GPz900R ......... TOP GUN

After getting a little bit done most evenings this week, I am nearly at the finish line although not without a few issues. The inner rear mudguard went in ok, but the outer complete with tail light took a bit of care and persuasion. One of the rear frame rails was slightly off and it needed the...

    Nick's Aoshima 1/12 Kawasaki GPz900R ......... TOP GUN

Managed to make some more progress on the assembly. Got the footrest hangers in place and left overnight. The actual footrests themselves will be left until pretty much the end for fear of knocking them off. The brake and gear change lever had to be fitted behind the hangers and are a worry...

    Nick's Aoshima 1/12 Kawasaki GPz900R ......... TOP GUN

I'm pleased to report that with just three weeks remaining, meaningful construction has begun! The tweezers are holding the sprocket to the rear wheel while the glue sets. Getting the engine and airbox into the frame was quite tricky... Nick
