    Box sizes

Yep, never thought of that. The logistics of larger boxes must be an expense too, if shipping is by volume rather than weight

    Box sizes

It's a marketing strategy I suppose, the subject of these two kits is Pz 38 (t), so ultimately the same chassis and running gear, the Dragon 'Hetzer' being the less complicated kit with smaller parts count and the HobbyBoss kit being the original vehicle with a conventional turret with many more...

    amazing engineering

Not sure if this belongs here, but the kit deserves a mention, I've been in a modelling drought recently without mojo. I've started a number of quick fix kits but finishing them is . . . . (difficult to explain!) So, I tried one of these 'Mecha' kits, snap fit click together no paint no glue...

    Workbench, show us yours

Me too, I can't work in clutter, I need to tuck stuff away in little drawers where I know where stuff will be at any time Sometimes, well, every time really I'll stop mid build and have a bit of a tidy

    Workbench, show us yours

I'm a bit fussy that way, I really don't enjoy clutter, it's why i have so many little drawers to keep everything tidy, sometimes I have to clutter stuff to photograph it to make it look more lifelike! It's also one reason I don't 'weather' my builds!

    How old are we?

Not to worry, by August you'll be with the cool kids! Ha!

    Workbench, show us yours

The Lightning and F-4 Red Arrows 'what if' are pretty cool but the Labrador is amazing! What scale is it? Ha!

    How old are we?

At sixty three I'm right in the middle of our demographic, I could be biased but we grew up in a golden age of modelling where Airfix Revell etc etc produced dozens of new kits every year at a time when the art of injection molding was maturing nicely, magazines became a thing that expanded our...

    Workbench, show us yours

This is where I do my thing . . . when I do! Hopefully more so moving forward Note my tiny assistant Bandai Namco '30MinuteSister' Tiasha. That little katana is useful when she cuts parts from sprues with the precision of a ninja! Although I think she's hid my Typhoon instructions, I'm...

    I think I have a syndrome

Hey look! I built a kit! , feels good to get one completed! Now I'm off to stare at my unfinished Airfix Typhoon for a while and see what happens! Ha!

    All-Star University team training M4

This is the training lead tank of the of All-Star University commanded by Alice Shimada. there are, unsurprisingly no kit dedicated to this tanks as they only appear very briefly in 'Der Film', so exactly the kind of project I enjoy most . It's from the original 1/35 Tamiya M4, it's just plain...

    I think I've become a collector

Hey Chris, there was a real Spitfire as a Gate Guard at RAF Coltishall a Spitfire Mk LF XVIe from 1963. I don't know of a real spit mounted on a roundabout but there was a fiberglass model in place behind the main gatehouse from 1989 until October 2006, when it was removed to be used as a gate...

    I think I've become a collector

As with many of us, this reads very much like a child of the 60's and 70's! Halcyon days indeed!

    I think I've become a collector

Sure seems to be a curse of the modern scale modeller!??!

Procrastination is a problem I have too, but gotta have a reason to get up in the morning after retirement

    I think I've become a collector

Hey Chris, as a 'what if' builder there generally needs a credible back story as a basis for any build, and a raspberry ripple single seater Lightning is a challenge to come up with something realistically probable? As for myself building a raspberry ripple Lightning, I have a Sword 1/72...

    I think I've become a collector

Do it! make it a mini group build, it'll be a further incentive too! Mine is on the premise of furthering the knowledge for our far east partners in the GCAP 'Tempest' project, a surplus Typhoon will act a station hack at Gifu airbase to discover how Europeans collaborate and put together...

    I think I've become a collector

Yep, exactly that! The shelf queens are part of the problem, they are pricking my conscience to complete them, your 'just do it' philosophy is where I need to be for sure Yep, this has been my thinking, in the shelf queens I have, the Sword Lightning in 'raspberry ripple' was about to enter a...
