    Anyone else collect Fridge Magnets?

We try to get one of these wherever we visit, majority of places seem to have them. A nice cheap reminder of where we have been and colourful too. Here are ours, got a few more on another fridge, but this is the motherlode.

    Workbench, show us yours

I always put things back in there proper place, that way you know where they are when you need them. Also clean up equipment before putting it away, especially important i think with airbrushes. Grew up in a small flat so tidiness was important, our small 1800's cottage is the same in that respect.

That looks just about right to me, orderly, but wouldn't be afraid of messing it up a bit. Nice painting area too, Iooks like a decent spray booth?

    thinking of getting this

This is how I explain running an expensive Canon A3+ inkjet photo printer It costs the sort of money you would only ever spend on a hobby

I can recommend these led lights, use them for fungi photography and also some indoor stuff too https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09FLN61Y4?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_asin_title

    Another A/B problem Sorted

I agree, there are some parts that are clearly the same and interchangeable. Already tried the Takumi trigger and the lighter preset cut away handle from one of my Iwata airbrushes. Liking the angled air valve/hose connect, suits my hand hold really well. One omission is a small spanner to undo...

Always a good idea to have something like this for photographing objects such as scale models. Have experimented using A3 prints of suitable backgrounds, sometimes works well, other times not so much. I used the lights from a couple of old lightboxes to illuminate my spray booth. You can see...

    1/35th WW2 Photos sizing

What size in mm do you require them? Also be careful downloading photos from the Web. Some photographers search to see if their photos have been used. If the search tool finds them an invoice often follows. Copyright remains with the taker forever.

    Another A/B problem Sorted

I have always used Iwata Airbrushes, mostly used for primer, base coat and varnishing. Recently bought a GSI Creos/Procon Boy/Mr Hobby PS289 with a 0.2mm needle for some finer detail work. My hands are far too shaky for brush painting and I enjoy using airbrushes.

Following on from a recent thread I thought it might be nice to share photos of our work areas. Might pick up some good ideas from each other, after all we are quite an inventive lot Did a search and couldn't find a thread newer than 2022 for this. Have to be tidy, we live in a small 19th...

    New hobby started

Hope the fishkeeping is going well and you are finding it enjoyable This thread encouraged me to offer my Tropical Fish set up free for collection. Put it on our neighbourhood WhatsApp group and it was snapped up very quickly.

    Epic Fail

Got everything ready for priming my Citroen HY Van. Black and Grey primers mixed up with a combo of thinner, flow improver and retarder. Small parts stuck down on upturned low tack tape ready to paint. Larger parts marked with pencil on suitable holding areas Airbrush connected to compressor and...

Not as nice as Bob's above, but always fancied trying a Badger Patriot 105. 0.5 needle will be good for priming and varnishing. Couldn't refuse at a penny under forty quid on Ebay. In really good nick with a spare nozzle and quick release adapter.

I do like these more quirky vehicles, never tried an AK kit before. The printed wheels you get these days really enhance the finished article.

    Latest Acquisitions (2026)

As As a long term photographer I can attest to the expense of that particular hobby. Printing at home is exceptionally expensive when a set of ink cartridges cost in the region of £150. Our cabin cruiser moored at St Pancras basin wasn't exactly a cheap pastime either

    Impressed

I find brush painting quite relaxing, just sitting there daubing away with some sounds on. On the other hand there is something very pleasing watching the paint build up from an Airbrush. Got some small bits to hand paint today, seats, steering wheel, bumper etc Much too fiddly for anything...
