    Tamiya X-21 Flat Base

Needed some matt white but could only get X-2 white. How much X-21 should i add to a full 10ml jar of X-2 to make it matt? I know if too much is used you end up with a 'milky' finish TIA Tom

    cutting brass rod

As the title says. What's the best way to cut thin (0.2 - 0.9mm) brass rod? I thinking a cutting disc in my whizzy thing would leave the best finish on the cut. TIA Tom

    Tamiya OD

XF-62 isn't the same as it was. What can be added to the newer mix to revert it back to the older mix (I'm thinking a smidge of black and maybe a touch of brown?) Tom

    Evergree/Plastruct

There's a link published somewhere about various items 'bundled' together being sold on ebay or somewhere? I remember seeing it...just can't think in which forum topic. It might not even be on this site but I think it's a Jens Andree related thread! Tom

    Resirators

Been thinking of getting a respirator but I don't know what to look for. A brief overview: I only spray Tamiya acrylics and primer (Tamiya or Halfords) in a well ventilated garage (e.g spray primer base, then base colour then camouflage colours as applicable) not all in one sitting and probable...

    Mr. Color paints

I'm considering tying this brand and wondering if isopropyl alcohol can be used to thin them (I'm a cheapskate, and if at all possible will at least try for a cheaper product rather than pay for branded thinners I've just got 5 ltrs for £12) or do I need another type of thinner? Tom

    Orange Hobby 250/1 kit no.9149

Has anyone else built this kit 'cos I'm a little confused with this kit. Specifically the side stowage bins. No drop down doors are supplied. The instructions depict the bins (parts E6 and E7) as having the doors already moulded shut integral to E6 and 7 Dragon kit 6425 250/8 on the other...

    Camo query

I'm a bit flummoxed as to how to paint the camo on a 48 scale Eduard Bf 110G-2. I've sprayed the underside with RLM 76 and now...Duh! I can mask off the bottom of the wings and tailplane easily enough, but then what? I'm thinking an overall coat of RLM 75 for the upper surfaces, then mask...

    Electrical Wiring

What where the outer insulation colours for wiring during WW2? I've always thought a black/dark grey sheath made up of cloth(?) tape. The reason I'm asking is on model I'm planning, the instructions indicate a brown cable run. Tom

    Decal advice

Would it be advisable to lay down a white undercoat to wings and fuselage areas before applying invasion stripe decals?

    Tamiya Mossie 61062 question

I'm studying the instructions (like a good little modeller should) and have a question. Have Tamiya omitted to provide a control yoke (like a horizontal figure 8) that (I think) should be attached to part H10? Tom

    Luftwaffe camo

Does anybody have a technique for applying the mottling so beloved by German camo painters during ww2? I'm using Tamiya mixes for the colours but unfortunately I don't have an airbrush/compressor combo capable of spraying the required finish (single action brush and one pressure compressor :(...

    Seat Cushions

Just pottering away, tidying up, as you do and I came across some biggish, flat elastic bands. And I thought that if cut into appropriate sizes would make good seat cushions. So I thought I'd share

    Another Beau question

Carried weapons load was: 1, 18" mkXV torpedo (1,800lbs Navweaps site) 2, 500lb bombs (1,000lbs) or 8, 3" rockets (approx. 780lbs + rails) My question is could a Beau carry 2 bombs and some/all of the rockets? Tom

    Beaufighter question

Hello, I noticed on a photo of a Polish Mustang III escorting a torpedo armed Beau Mk. X marked P6-S (of the North Coates strike wing), that there's a small squarish flap protruding down from (it appears) the fuselage behind the wing root). Anyone know what it is? Tom

    Tamiya matches.

Hello All, New here and thinking of trying something with wings (I've been very remiss in my modelling of winged things). I'm feeling in the mood for RAF or Luftwaffe WW2 and would like to know some matches or mixes using Tamiya Acrylics for around D-Day 1944 Thank you all in advance Tom
