1/12 1966 Ford GT 40

My son's been out of the house for 30 years & I still have a bunch of used strings from his shredding days, great for grabs, hooks, steps, antennae, barbed wire & springs.

Just fitted the carburettor, fuel pipe a d several tiny accelerator linkages. Made a return spring - now to see if I can fashion a reasonable throttle cable.

There's is nothing I don't love about this build. It's just spot on all over. It wasn't too long ago, I discovered one of my cars uses the same carburettor (4 barrel Holley) as the road going GT40. And that is as close I will ever get to owning one.

Thanks for the the kind comments.
Yes it's a really great carb which you can fine tune to suit the engine it's fitted to. I used them on Chrysler, Chevvy and Ford motors.

Some more progress, was hoping to complete this before the Tamiya GB but still so much to do and going on a weeks cruise so the best laid plans.....
Major problems with the steering. I've glued in position as it's a very clunky design. The steering column was 15 mm too long, the steering rack needs shortening as it gives a toe out stance to the front wheels and the brake cooling pipes were absolute garbage - had to shorten them by 10 mm and put curved sprue inside to stop them collapsing.

Got the interior 95% finished and very happy with the extras I've fitted or scratched.

Painted the black light recesses and window frames, fitted the first headlight cover. Rear clamsheel air scoops , grilles, grille frame and lights fitted.

Finally spent ages making up the fuel and oil lines.
