The 'pit and engine look superb Scott. Must be a really nice size at 1:24. Those harness straps look real!!!

Hi Scott, I am really a Jet man as you will have gathered from my postings, but must say that kit you have chosen is very tempting, did those seat belts come with the kit? they are so realistic. Thats a cracking cockpit tub and engine, look forward see seeing the progress on this one. Cheers Derek

Scott, this is b****y wonderful stuff! How on Earth did you make those belts?

Am I seeing things or is there still some putty on the back of the control stick?

The seat belts are Eduard 1/24 they had to be bought seperately at a cost of £7.00 iam in the process of trying and i say trying to do a little super detailing of the engine itself by using 0.37mm lead wire. Will post the results as i go.

Nice one Scott. That lead wire is a dream to work with isn't it. Anyone who has never tried it, it is so soft and easy to work with, it doesn't spring back when you bend it like copper wire etc. If you fancy trying it out, there is some in the shop.

Stone the crows Scott...this looks the dogs wotsits....awsome stuff. Them belts are flipping amazing and the detailing your doing on that impressive looking power plant is incredible. Cant wait to see this progress...thanks for sharing mate, great stuff, regards Martin :-)

cheers guys thanks for the comments so far graham the lead wire has been sitting in my fly tying box for years now i used it for weighting fly bodies, the stuff works real nice. I used it on the engine of the 109 and as iam aiming to expose the whole engine here i thought a bit more detailing was nessecary a big first for me this detailing stuff. As for the seat belts well as stated they are 1/24 Eduard but i do agree they make the cockpit on any plane.

I love what you're doing here Scott! Wonderful stuff.

Can I ask why you decided to do something in this scale when you seem to have been 'specialising' in the smaller scales?

Hi Gern, don't know really i already have a spitfire and a mustang in 1/24, and because i've done several 109's in 1/48 , i decided i wanted to do the 109 g10 in 1/24 which i did, and you can't do a 109 and not do the fw190. A little long winded but there it is beside the size give a bit more scope for detailing.

Thar sure going to be a beauty when shes done. Looking real good with the "wireing" and that cock-pit is gret too. As for the harnesses, Several pounds well spent!

Looking forwards to the next up date!
