I painted this guy a while ago but I forgot to photograph him and post him.
He’s a Chota Sahib figure that I have had for absolute years. Not my usual area of interest, but he was given to me as reference for a range of 1-72 figures I made back in the eighties for PP Aeroparts

I decided to paint him as a Fleet Air Arm pilot because my father did his National Service with them- he was a stores clerk, not a pilot; but at least there is a tenuous family connection.
I have photos of a mannequin taken at the FAA Museum at Yeovilton, so I thought it would be nice and easy.
Of course not. Different design altogether. So I googled a few images and I came to the conclusion that there are hundreds of designs of flight suit, G-Suit, and the associated paraphernalia, none of which I know anything about, AND different colours of helmet. So in the end I went with what I liked and what paint colours I had!
So no rivet-counting please, it’s just a bit more painting practice

Nice job, Neil. Pretty tough painting in this scale, excellent. If one ever goes into a Life Support office, they will see countless shades of the same olive tone hanging all around, so like any other uniform, the perfect tone is what you make it. I like the tarmac dio, btw!

Thanks Steve, I'm sticking with this scale predominantly until it becomes too much for me. Most of my grey army is 1-35 or 54mm, so I don't want to make it obsolete until nature does it for me...
Glad you like the carrier deck stencil

Good grief Neil, what else have you got tucked away... That guy is nearly as old as I am....
Paint job - Take a bow, excellent.
