As many of you know I mostly build 1/32 scale aircraft with just the odd 1/48 or, rarely, 1/24. As I have built most of the best 1/32s that have been produced, plus a few of the ‘dogs’ I keep an eye on what’s coming down the road in 1/32 scale.

Right now I have never seen more 1/32 scale kits being produced since I got back into the hobby in 2010.

Kotare:
Spitfire Vb (preordered)
Hurricane 1 (preordered)
bf109e
P47 Thunderbolt

Zoukei Mura:
Mustang P51B
Ki100

GWH:
Hellcat

Italari:
Macci C200

Revell:
Meteor

DMBK;
Sea Fury
Spitfire 22

HKM:
Two Mosquitoes

And that just what I can remember. I know there is more from Italari and DMBK as well.

That does not include some ‘new media’ kits in resin that will give a miss.

With what’s in the stash I sorted for the next couple of years. And some claim that the hobby is dying!

It's nice to see the evidence of a growing hobby. Manufactures will only produce new kits if they are pretty sure of the market. It would have been good to see a few more unusual offerings but that is probably down to market forces.

It's great news indeed, but imho I think the target market audience today has shifted from kids to adults with money and space for a nice stash.
I'm not that sure the new generation of kids has much interest in this hobby, I might be wrong but a nice new kit these days is very expensive for a kid with just pocket-money. Cheers

Yes it seems like rumours of the hobbys death have been exaggerated doesnt it ? Good to see some more diverse subjects too ( Revell meteor , ZM ki100 and Italeri Mc200)

The hobby has shifted from being child orientated to an adult hobby which is not a bad thing. It has done this without ignoring the child/teen market with starter kits, sci-fi subjects and so on. I would say that the hobby, overall is in great health.
