Well, here we go again this time it’s a British Mk V Female heavy tank from Meng in 1/35 scale as is the norm with these we start with a shot of the box art and then the sprues before the actual build commences
After this you can see I’ve already started by painting the main hull sections with their first colourIMG_6174.webpIMG_6175.webpIMG_6176.webpIMG_6191.webp

So here we go with the construction of a Mk V Female tank from WW I around 1918
1st off a lot of painting interior and exterior along with some of the wheels and sprockets once all this was done I could actually start building the thing
Paint used was Revell Aqueous Acrylic’s for the White , Black , Brown & Bronze Green
Vallejo Acrylic for the Kharki Brown exterior
Ghallari Metalic Marker pens ink applied with a brush for the road wheels idler wheels & sprockets in Dark Steel & Dark Iron for the ammo storage boxes & Flashy Gold for the extinguishers although they might need changing to a darker tone depending on what research I can find
So construction follows a similar pattern to previous armour builds and that you assemble the road wheels usually two pieces although in this case some of it was three pieces these are them placed onto the chassis on the spindles provided you then construct the framework around the wheels which is where I’m at present so hopefully next post should see both sides done ready for application of my least faveroite past time that is track building as mine usually fall apart when trying to apply them we shall see how this one goes compared to my previous excursion from the same company Meng that being their World War I light tank Whippet which was an absolute disaster track wise which in the end after several attempts the tracks were super glued to the model at least that way they stayed on

One side is nearly done shame but when you addIMG_6215.webp the extra side panel all that detail inside will be hidden never mind as you can see from the last picture where the side is being glued to it and clampedIMG_6217.webp

So both side panels are now set dry and have been painted &IMG_6249.webpIMG_6248.webp finally attached to the main hull via the top panel which is also been finished not much to it really it’s just basically two sets of boxes glued on top and then painted in white and red and the last picture shows it all assembled all we Gotta do now is add the machine gun turrets the exhaust then the tracks and finally the trenching clearance attachmentIMG_6251.webpIMG_6246.webpIMG_6252.webpIMG_6255.webp

Here are the instructions to the last sequence that I did the only awkward bit and it’s my pet hate photo etch there are loads of little hatch covers and spy holes that use photo etch to cover them why they couldn’t have moulded these in place. I’ve no idea but just to me it seems like parts for part sake anyway most of them are done now they’re really fiddly little tiny 1 mm pieces of metal which means you have to use superglue and stick them to the model and we all know that superglue supposedly has a shelf life for about five years after which things start falling apart which is why I dislike using it
The photo etch parts are marked with a W

So now we have a time limit of five minutes for editing post after which it comes up with an error as occurred and doesn’t save what you’ve done. I was trying to say in the last part but got timed out and the other piece was deleted that there are three versions to this tank there’s an A B or C
The C version is a stripped down monument in some city in Europe. I’m not sure where the A & B versions were used in battle I chose version B because it has more colour on it than the other one namely the red and white identification paint and a serial number similar to my Mk V Male World War I tank so possibly from the same squadron
