discussion 1/35 T34/76 by TAMIYA 35049 1942 production with metal tracks !

Have ordered the Fruil tracks form John , built the kit at the same time as the StuG. So only a few photos.

I was reading earlier some old posts from 2022, boy we had some fun here in those days.

This kit was kindly given to me along with several others by @Richard48, when we all met up at the Stamford Show earlier this year.


So what do I build dio-wise? I had thought of a tank crossing a railway track, but looking back I really enjoyed buildings, so thoughts and ideas please.

This is what we have at the moment.
Going to have the "lid " shut.

Not bad moulding, I see this model has now been discontinued.



I chose to build the earliest version with the attached armour plate to the front.



And finally those wheels and caps.



Tea and biscuits will be served, hopefully, by Minime and Steve Jones when they have turned up!

How about the tank travelling through a ruined street. Damaged buildings are a real forte of yours. Simple but right up your street - pun intended

Some nice suggestions, the buildings seem to be fav, inside a building even better. Right off to cut some foam board and start a base.
Biscuits are going well.

Chair pulled up John, the kit I am building was also a gift for the very Kind Richard. How about it crossing a trench with some figures hiding that will give you a choice of using Russian or German figures.

Hi Paul, I can put a few German creeping up the street. Going to have the T34 hiding in a burnt-out building, waiting for some German armour .

Hi John, long time no see. Yep, 2022 was a good year tackling my monkeys. The good old early version of the T34 always looked good in winter camo and with full rubber tyres. Very iconic scenes of them racing through the steppes in mass surprising the germans.
Looking forward to your buildings...SWMBO should be hiding the matches at this point. Would you have any Ginger Snaps to go with my tea?...would fancy some dunked in tea to soften them up a little...teeth are a premium these days.

Wabble, good to have you aboard. Yes 2022 was a great year., I remember them well. Rick has been asked to find some Ginger Snaps, do they have them in the US ? Don't want your teeth falling out !

Sat out side and cleaned the track section in the shade



With having only one good eye my depth of field is poor, so to cut the wires I took a piece of soft wood and drill a hole to 15mm




Push the wire in and then cut off

Can only put in 10 max so here are some more.

Next the actual building, made from Kapa Line foam board, easy to peel and by far the best for imprinting

Filler is used , found this in Toolsation, great as my French hero Emmanuel Nouaillier uses this as well.



Some members on here may remember MM magazine doing a complete how to guide from him some years back . I was lucky to find and buy his book Extreme Buildings last year, cost a lot but was well worth it, around £50.



The brick work lines have been drawn and cut into the foam, still using the tool made by Mike Cartwell after I found the one sold was useless

Brick lengths will be done later as on the side there will be a great hole in the side, pointless doing it only to be removed.



Doorway into workshop, this will show signs of damage later.


Spent some time doing those lines !
