Looking good John. Your background in working with wood must help with an understanding of all this malarkey.
Hopefully, it will be Jim.

Great to see you back at the bench John…. The build looks to be moving along nicely.

Don’t blame you for using the kitchen table if it warmer….my kitchen table workbench was south facing but the new build bunker is on the north side of the house…..looking at a space heater now!
Hi Si, I hope you and the family are doing well. Yes, get a space heater; it's well worth the cost. Can't be cold and sit in and model.

Looking good John.
Thanks Tim (y)
Nicely done mate.
Thanks, Paul, and for your message.

Having removed the cardboard base to the XPS foam. With everything glued together, it didn't need the cardboard.

More on the bridge,

Small sections are so hard these days, even with those magnifying glasses. Still, as it's going to be completely demolished, it won't matter. Of course I had to build it, since breaking it up has to be done to make it look convincing. Next, I'll add VMS mud, or plaster filler.

Bridge looks great John, you're going to damage it later I hear...not suited perhaps for a tank crossing. I've often wondered if the Russians had engineers inspecting such river crossings before a planned assault. Your woodworking skills surely beats mine anytime.

Cheers,
Wabble

Thanks
That looks great John. As much as I would hate to see that wonderful bridge destroyed, you are right needing to break it as a complete structure.
Indeed Joe.

They might as well have had them Wabble, but the Commissioners were so intent on hitting the Germans they took risks. They didn't care about people.
Very nice bridge. Looking forward to the "damage".

Wait no more Jim!
My apologies John for not keeping a eye on your superb duo!!
Bob , you have more important things to think about.
Will it catch fire as it collapses? :p
Pete
NO, damage, yes, but no fire this time Pete;)

Having used plaster for the first coat, followed by VMS mud (haven't used it before, and so far, very impressed).

Just to show how it will look, lots to do with the damaged pieces of the bridge; some will be in the water(RESIN). These pieces of timber will have to be sealed again with flat varnish to stop the Basswood and balsa from drawing up too much resin.
