Looks superb andy , i see what you mean about delicate bits , some very fine mouldings there. Did they ever make these with a bonnet covering the engine ? Seems like asking for trouble leaving all the motor exposed like that . Mind you it makes for a more interesting model !
Never seen a picture of one with a bonnet although there are a few with a full length wriggly tin roof fitted, probably an aftermarket fit rather than a manufacturers product. Sorry for using the wriggly tin description but I can't spell corrugated! ;)

Moving along at a snail's pace with this thing. Mixed up some paint today, it's grey with a tinge of blue which is as near as my limited skills can get to pictures of the real thing I have seen. Does not show too well in the picture but I think it will do for me, now to decide on leaving it mint just painting the levers, seat, etc or giving it a right doing with muck and a bit of rust.

Looks great with a coat of paint. Really shows how intricate it is and how well put together.

Doing my head in is this, just can not seem to get the effect I am looking for.

I will have to darken that exhaust manifold and perhaps throw another mucky wash at it and call it done.

Once youve done what you have suggested i think youll have nailed it!
Its looking great so far and an excellent job on the tracks.

Done as much as I can with this model, kind of got to me a bit so pictures in the completed section.
