Completed this fun little build of the early Hurricane. It's been a while since I built any planes in 1/72.

The kit itself was pretty good. The only notable flaw was a bad fit between the fuselage and the wings which required some sanding. Other than that a pretty nice kit with great surface detail.

I also made the lights on the wing tips using some of the clear sprue (which required sanding, patience, some curse words and polishing!)

A very nice Hurricane! I know what you mean about the wing/fuselage fit - mines in the drawer of doom, waiting for inspiration!

Might I suggest some future panel line detailing or drybrushing in a lighter shade over the main colours to add some depth?

Cheers

That's a neat and tidy build there. Great job on the navigation wing tip lights.

I knew that comment was coming :)

And I don't mean anything bad with that, I admit that some detailing would bring it to life. Thank you for the suggestion.

I actually did a wash on the flaps, but I think due to the low light conditions I shot the pictures in it's not easy to notice.

Very precise detailing and paintwork.

On the photograph thing I find it is better not to use a white or near white background.

I end up with to much contrast which wipes out a lot of detail.

I use a mid grey backing paper which then cuts the contrast down and gives life to the subject.

Thanks a lot, I'll keep that in mind.

I updated some of my details including my name. Don't try and pronounce it though. :D

Nice job and nice to see it in the Belgian livery.
