Sorry about the double post! I hit the wrong button and thought I'd lost the first effort. Artistic licence is definitely the order of the day on this one.Cheers

Steve
So, something like this ?????

View attachment 22430

I am happy with the finish on the tail fins .......... I thought a rough cast alumiium would do............. I'll need to repaint the nose caps. Didn't get too goos a line on those, found them difficult to mask............ I have no idea why ????

Cheers to All

Peter

Hi All.................

Well apart from the decals, which as I’ve said were a disaster........... I’ve best part done. A couple of bits of detailing to still do but I’ll leave them until I get some decals on.

All in all this kit has tried both my limited skills and my patience. I think it’s an old kit (according to the KP website they have re-tooled and done some repairs.....I hope they have) and there were lots of alignment issues and nothing much fitted well. The windows were a disaster, only two of them were anywhere close to flat so I binned them and used some clear acetate stuck behind the openings. The fuselage and wings took a lot of lining up to try to get it square and I still reckon there is a little twist in the fuselage. The bombs come as two halves and I’m one short. One of the halves was so misshapen that there was no way I was going to get that one together......... That went in the bin as well.

As I already posted, I intended to give this an overall “weathered and a bit tired” finish. I’m quite happy with the result, although I’m not sure if I’ve over done it a bit........ The oily bits and the rusty exhausts took a while............. and the eagle eyed among you might notice the contact area of the tyres.............

I’ve done my best on this one in the face of great adversity (as they say)......... and I’m always open to any advice criticism (constructive, abusive or otherwise). When I get some decals on and I've beaten them around to look worn out................ I'll post some more piccies.

I don’t think I’ll bother with a Kopro kit again................ The next one is a Hobby Boss “Morser Carl Gerat”.

Cheers to All

Peter

Well done Peter, she definitely looks like she's seen some service. It sounds like the kit was a bit of an arse but beating one like that is a source of satisfaction in itself.

Cheers

Very nice Peter. It is so nice to see diverse subjects like this, I am quite boring and do very predictable models. Building models like this must be very satisfying, great job.
