Hello all,

It's Tamiya 1/72 scale and the detail is stunning for this small scale, I printed my own decal using the template for 1/32 scale and resized it. Fun and enjoyable build. As always comments and critics are welcomed. Hope you like it!!

A very nice mustang and like it more because of the decals option ie other countries utilising such an iconic aircraft.

Stunner Leo, great quality finish and the added 'home-made' decals really make it different.

Great job and well done on the decals, they look great

Nice, the shark teeth looks menacing ...

By the way, did you prime your model with black , before putting on the silver?

I primed with Tamiya X-1 gloss black, wet sand it with 2000 grit sandpaper. Then used the Mr. Metallic Color No. 211. It was really convincing BMF until I gloss coat it then I lost the whole shine. Dissapointed :( . Any advice?!

That looks like the correct step...

Try look at those car forums...

i think they sand with different grit...polish..sand polish..and they will get super shinny n smooth surface with any colors.

That's a great Mustang Leo! The shark mouth is very fearsome!

I didn't realise it was 1/72 until I really-read your post - it does look bigger!

As for losing the shine, many gloss coat products are formulated to be applied to a matt surface so they don't work as well if the base is already glossy.

I've found that Humbrol Clear will work on matt & gloss bases, so maybe that's one for future builds.

Very nice Leo. Just enough on the panel lines with out being obtrusive. Nice crisp work especially on a 1/72.
