Just thought I'd spare a thought for the anniversary of the above, 82 years now passed by.....

I have not watched TV today, but I would bet there's not much coverage by the main stream media, as usual.
Brave people, all those who went through D day, as we know not all survived, but without them, who knows what might have happened instead?
My Dad was not at Normandy, but he did his bit out in the far east in Burma.
We owe so much to all who went through all wars, but especially WWI and WWII.
Lest we forget......

I actually think D-Day coverage is pretty good most years, it was certainly on the news today, and there is usually at least one other program around if you want to see the same films and ideas rehashed. However (there’s always a however) it always seems like the rest of the war never happened and D-Day was the single most important event. Very little TV coverage of other events and anniversaries these days.

I think there were one or two programme’s covering it but as it wasn’t a land mark anniversary like the 80th a couple of years ago it was a bit more low key.

I watched an old program with Guy Martin looking at various aspects of the D-Day operation.

Most surprising thing was seeing my partners old boss pop up showing Guy one of his historic vehicles (a DUKW) 😮

Geoff.
