Right Peter, well I blame him for many things that I've done including camo.

John - He certainly has a lot to answer for.

Jim - Thanks.

Hi people.

I'm afraid that's as far as it's going to go.

I started working on the turret today and completely messed up cleaning out the well for the gunner's turret. I did some remedial work, but my limited skills meant that it was way under par, and together with the amount of work that would be needed to get the whole thing up to scratch, I decided it just wasn't going to be fun.

If the figures had been better, I might have persevered, but I was a bit disappointed in the finish I'd achieved to be honest, so it's best to call it a day.

Sorry!

Morning Peter

Sorry to hear about the turret, it hasn't hit the bin yet? Has it?

There is always someone happy to help out, just post it?

The figures looked good, hopefully they aren't in the bin?

Otherwise, hopefully you have another project really to roll?

Having fun is the reason we do this weird hobby, but we all have fun in different ways!

I love fixing stuff, scribbing figures and building 1:35 tracks!

It takes all sorts, just a thought.

Have a good day with your next figure

Regards

Steve H

I find it difficult to get my head around why you would think they are no good - they look awesome

The shading on the black uniforms is just brilliant Peter

Morning Steve and Simon

Yes, it has all been destroyed and binned. That way I won't be tempted to carry on with something that would go straight into storage as a so-so build.

Steve Jones very kindly contacted me to offer his services with the turret, but as I explained to him, the fact that I wasn't happy with the figures meant that my enthusiasm had already waned. Apart from the fact that they weren't great sculpts and my painting of them was under par, I also found that they were a bit on the small side, and looked like children against the turret - I know King Tigers were big, but the scale difference was very noticeable.

I've already started my next thread (see below):

Another lovely Dog Tag figure. Then something more involved:

Mitches 200mm flying ace busts, depicting Johnny Johnson, Pappy Boyington and Adolf Galland. My mouth is already watering.....
