I thought it would be a good idea to post a picture of the 'New' Klear in case anyone is still not sure what to look for when rooting for it on the shelves.....better still show the wife what it looks like!!!

This will identify the stuff better than an explanation of what the bottle looks like.

Hi Ron,

That's a useful pic!

As it happens, that's the one I got last year and it seems to be doing everything that you guys say it will do - at least, it's done the few things I've tried.

Still not managed to find any but no panic just yet. Thanks for the pic, that will help me spot it.

Graham, rucks of it in our Tesco today, so might be worth a try at one near you.

Ron

My tesco is dry, but local asda had it. It's in the isle near the furniture polish.

Argh! Already messed up with the rating business. Sorry Ron, this is helpful stuff. Blast these big fat thumbs.

So it was you giving me a bad rating............No more pictures in the Sunday Sport for you mate!!!!!!!!!!

Not been in them both on the same day but as yet, Tesco, Asda (where I used to get Klear) and Wilkos is totally devoid of the stuff. Maybe time to do a recon again, although ASDA gets checked every Saturday.

I know a shop that has a few bottles (I've already got enough to last me 20 years!) at £3 a pop so if anyone really needs some, just add the cost of postage & I'd be happy to send some out.

Patrick

Ron cheers for the pic i've still got the old stuff and plenty of it but when it runs out i'll get some of the new stuff.

ta much mate

Time to have a look a round again, even though there is a bottle on its way to me from England (thanks again).

I might try Lidl I hear they sell it in Germany, so they might have it here too.....Do CO-OP stores sell it In England. Hell I can even try Marks and Sparks. Yes we got them here to!

Graham I was in my local B&Q warehouse this morning in Hornchurch and they had some Klear in stock it was in the house hold section.

Well thanks to a very helpfull fella, named Ron, I have just given both My Sherman, "Clive" and the 15cwt a coat of this clear.

God I hope it works out ok!

Hi Ian yeah i had the same reservations when i applied it to my 1/24 spitfire, but the results are good, i've just put a second coat on my 1/24 scale P51 D Mustang will do the decals tomorrow morning.

Peterborough ASDA has finally stocked the new one so a bottle has been purchased. Not sure why now as the old bottle will probably outlast me lol

Hi guys, I might sound a bit numb by asking what does it actually do for the model, are you using it to seal/finish them?

Thanks in advance, still green:mrgreen::mrgreen:

Ade

I use klear as a gloss base for laying on decals and then sealing them when set, i am led to believe that because airplanes have a slight metalic sheen to them klear provides that finsh.

scott

Thanks Scott, I was having problems with that on my tanks etc. Some chaps told me to spray gloss varnish over the tank prior to decals application then final coat of matt.

Cheers Ade (learning)

Ade iam only new to it's use also but i wouldn't be without it now, i know Ron(spanner) is also a convert.
