A shelf queen in hiding. Tamiya Jagdpanzer IV

Hi Bob.....lucky you getting a stencil for the Disc Camo. When I did my Panther G it was one masking tape disc at a time until the beast was covered......a real PITA. I like both the Vomag and the Alkett iterations of this fighting vehicle.....I'll hang out at the back and keep the moggies from eating all the cake. Rick H.

Most welcome Rick, good luck stopping our big boy Casper

They like scones, but leave the rasins lol.

Will see how i can use the stencil, not sure how it will look on the Jagdpanzer sides?

Hi Bob
I'm in. That cat does look very well fed, there's clearly more than one cake in there!! Reminds me of the Australian cat who ate one of his owner's ducks. It was a "duck filled fatty puss"
I'll get my coat.
Jim

I seem to remember Ron doing a successful disc camo just using a cut down brush and sorta twisting it - I think it was Ron anyway.

My god Jim thats terrible:tongue-out3:

Will practice on some plastic card with the stencil, not sure if its big enough?

Hi Bob, not sure what look you are going for, but I found when doing mine that if I kept the three color scheme fairly "tight" I got maximum effect of the disc coverage. if you spread it out there will be larger areas of dunkelgelb visible with no dics in that area.......just depends on what you are after for a final product. :nerd: Rick H.

Hi Rick

Never tried disc camo, so i do three colour camo then disc on top??

Hi Bob, That is correct..........do your three color scheme as you normally would and then using the template, you spray the dunkelgeld over the top thereby creating the multi colored discs by breaking up the pattern below. Also bear in mind that with a light coat of the overlay, the pattern will be faint, if you double coat it it will become more bold. all depends on what you are looking for. Cheers, Rick H.

Thanks Rick, kind of you.

Have some plastic card so practice it is then!

Bob,
Use one of those single paper punches and punch out the dosc camo.
Wife now on the way to collect the cat, showed her the pic and she has not stopped drooling...
The model has not shown its age after all these years.
Mike.

Think it's time I made an appearance Bob, think it looks like a big StuG to me. :crying:

Bob, looking good.
Jim is right. It was me that painted on the discs with a cut down paint brush.
I would post pickies of the results, but posting your own stuff on someone else's thread is kind'a frowned on here at S.M.

It'll be interesting to see how you get on with the stencils. Too fiddly for me I'm afraid.
