After much thought I decided to leave this aluminium cover. I think it is good enough. I can bend it :smiling5: And it is perfectly installed on deck. Photos for comparison. I was in a hurry so only phone photos.

Hi Neo, impressive work going on here. I think the plate with the light is the registration plate, it would have had the tanks registration number on it, pre & early war thing, would have been something like 326 HVH for instance, similar to civilian ones of the period.
