Hey guys,

Did some more on this hateful kit, finished the turret interior. I'm pretty sure all the bits are in the wrong place. Vague instructions andf no locating pins/marks don't help. I guess I could have researched online, but I honestly don't care on this one.

Looks just fine from here Bob. I bet some of the 1:1 interior bits were fitted in different places anyway.

Thanks Patrick. :smiling3:

I continue to polish this particular turd by painting the exterior. I like the black basing technique for any mono-coloured vehicles. Colour is Afrika Braun.

The tonal variation is less obvious in the pics than in real life.

Very effective Bob. These kind of subtle effects are often difficult to photograph. The turd is polishing up well.

Cheers Paul. :)

I like it, particulalry effective on grey aircraft, but I've used it on green and sand AFV's to good effect.

Stick with it, you are getting there, and we can see the tonal difference - just, but it is there.

Cheers guys. :)

Got the decal on yesterday (all 7 of them). Like the rest of the kit they were crap. Initially went down fine, but once the solution went on they wrinkled up and wouldn't go back. I used this to my advantage though.

On old AFV's I like to apply chipping and scratches to unit numbers and hull markings to show wear, ususally by going over with the base colour. In this case once the wrinkled decals were dry I went over with a fine sponge sander and removed the wrinkles, and parts of the decals to achieve the same effect. After a gloss coat they look suitably worn. I'll get some pics up once I have started the weathering.
